Wow. What utterly incredible historical footage. Bader, Johnnie Johnson, Robert Stanford Tuck, Adolf Galland, Jimmy Stewart and many others. Just incredible, an absolute priceless treasure. So sad that they are all gone now.

I've actually been reading up on a lot of stuff recently on many of the famous WWII aces. Those men were made of different stuff from you and I.

If I'm not mistaken I think Gunther Rall was the last surviving of the famous German aces and he died in 2009.

I've read biographies of Bader (Reach for the Sky), Johnson (Wing Commander) and Tuck (Fly for Your Life) multiple times each. I cannot recommend them strongly enough. Anyone with an interest in WWII air combat MUST read each of these three at least once.

Wow F4U, I'm very jealous! smile

I've added the three books you mentioned to my reading list.

Don't be too jealous, I only bought it I didn't get to meet him frown

Fortunately I bought it while he was still alive, for $60. Now the prices have gone nuts
