I have installed patch 4.14 but I don't want the headshake/G-force effects or the mouse look option.

1. I changed headshake to 0 to disable it and that did the trick. Is there any point (performance-wise) to also change the values for offset spring, rotation spring, and offset response? If yes, what should I set them at?

2. Does disabling mouse look improve performance? If yes, how do I do that?

3. Vsync - my workshop setting is "driver setting" and Nvidia is set to on. The default vsync value in the d3d8 file is 0 (off). Do I also need to change it to 1 (on)?

4. External FOV - my workshop setting is 45. The default FOV value in the d3d8 file is 35. Do I need to set it to 45 here too?

Hoogadoonga;

In answer to your questions:

question 1: Headshake set to "0" is the correct way to go to stop the G-Force effects. You don't need to adjust offset spring or rotation spring as they are only active it seems, when headshake is set to "1". At least that has been my experience.

question 2: I haven't evaluated the performance aspect of mouse look specifically but I can say that it has had no impact on my system which is relatively high end.

question 3: I haven't played with this setting, but you can freely experiment. My workshop setting is "Vsync on". that being said, your NVidia setting can override so there is room for experimentation. There is no one size fits all here.

question 4: again, this is an item I have not played with. I would only be speculating as to which one is actually in effect during the game. You can experiment with this as well.

Your last two questions have put questions in my mind that I will undoubtedly want to test out myself. Let me know the results if you do experiment with these settings.

Ankor may have the answer to this since he is the man who made the changes to the d3d8 file for WOFF Update V4.14. You could PM him on it.

Best Regards;

Thanks Robert. I will ask Ankor about items 3 and 4. I'll let you know what he says.

Hoongadoonga, I have just tried this feature out and can confirm that this setting in the d3d8 file, overrides the setting in the "Workshop". Probably not the best solution since I would expect it to be the other way around but at least we can deal with it.

Cheers

That's very odd. I just tested the FOV this morning and got the opposite result. For me, the workshop setting overrides the d3d8 setting. I set the workshop to 80 and got the wide "fisheye" effect, particularly noticeable while viewing my plane from the side.

No reply from AnKor so far.

Well if you are correct, that is a good thing. It is possible I made a mistake in my assessment but I don't have the time to check it out right now. I will when I get the time.
