Take a guess, take a gander. If you stacked all the gold that's ever been mined in a pile, it would only fill up about 1/3 of the Washington Monument... Lot less than you ever thought..
Boom... Mind blown.

Several decades ago I read somewhere that the estimated amount of gold would fit into a room 70 feet x 70 feet x 70 feet, which works out at around 21.3 meters cubed. I might imagine that cube has increased somewhat over the years, but I'd guess not exceeding 23 m cubed

Wait..... You mean it's....it's not all in Ft Knox? Flabbergasted!:

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

So, my shoebox full is more than I would have thought.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Most important is how much gold is left. Almost all of it. for a start there is nearly 20 million tons of it dissolved in the oceans. And more on the seafloor: "Currently, there really isn’t a cost-effective way to mine or extract gold from the ocean to make a profit. But, if we could extract all of that gold, there’s enough of it that each person on Earth could have nine pounds of the precious metal. Eureka!" http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/gold.html

Wait..... You mean it's....it's not all in Ft Knox? Flabbergasted!: There are questions about how much gold is there. There hasn't been an audit done in years.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

That doesnt look right, gold has been used for many things, eletrical cables, part of components, coins.........no way its just that much if you need ferries to take them to national bank. It's the reason that gold always more-or-less retains its value. Gold is always a good safe place to put your money. (As long as you actually have the gold. I'm suspicious about companies that sell paper gold :)).

I wouldn't like to see the sea sucked of all its gold though. There's probably some property of nature that somehow depends on it.
