Google Translator - Recently posted in IL-2.ru, about "to do": "As for design work. Work began on the left handle kosmosimov (based at the MCG). Watch for announcements.
Speaking about the plans, but this year we have a pretty tight schedule Design. Work on the 4 types of handles:
- Handle for left hand at the MCG basis (we do not make a complete mirror copy) for the dual-stick (HOSAS) configurations - Handle for left hand "kosmosima" (as it is called by our foreign clients). A completely new concept, HOSAS hybrid and HOTAS. - Handle throttle for modern combat aircraft - Metal components for aircraft of World War II: KG12Pro + throttle handle."

However, since the Cougar doesn't support the button press on the side CMS thumbstick, I assume that means that whatever button is electrically wired to that switch when using a Warthog base is then redundant and non-functional if using a Cougar base?
Yes, since this button surpass Cougar base possibility became non-functional. In Virpil T50 grip is button 7. https://virpil.com/images/blog/forums/VPCButtonMap.jpg

Are the VKB sticks and the Virpil similar in terms of build and quality? I'm slowly planning a replacement stick for my X52 pro .nd I want something of better quality and above all that can be extended to be mounted from the ground for my minimal VR cockpit setup, so I've been looking at the Gunfighter and because of this thread I'm now discovering the Virpil range too I cannot speak for Virpil, but I own a TM Warthog, and VKB rudder MK III and Gunfighter. I've owned Saitek in the past--including the X52. VKB is many orders of magnitude superior to Saitek. The VKB rudders are excellent in all respects. My only issue with them is that they lack toe brakes. The Gunfighter is similarly excellent with its metal cam gimbal system and contactless sensor. The KG style grip for the Gunfighter, however, is plastic (with the exception of a metal trigger), but feels sturdy with no flex or give if held firmly. The grip buttons also seem very good but I have no idea of their internals. Virpil looks very interesting and I would like to get their throttle system as it looks more versatile than the TM (which is also very good). But I haven't heard much about Virpil; I think they are selling their stick portion of the HOTAS now but I don't know anyone who has one. The problem with waiting and planning is VKB does not produce a steady supply (expect for rudders it seems) of their high end gear, so if you don't order during their production windows you can be left without that option for a very long time.

Quick question and apologies if it's been asked before, but are there any plans to make an F-16 stick? If not, why not? What's stopping you guys from making one of the most in-demand stick grips?

In iL2.ru forum they say that don't make sense make what Thrustmaster already make, so no F-16, F-18. But VKB (and VirPil) offer support for Tm grips. Warthog grip standalone can be bough from Tm for around $120. And this MCG is more versatile than "F-16'ish" grip, fit for more planes/games, probable interest more players that this in-demand of Falcon 4.0 players. For similar reason they opt in not make a "replica" of Su-27 stick.
