I played this with Jedi Master last night and we had a blast. Yeah, this is most definitely Far Cry + Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

The AI even on "regular" difficulty are a pretty good challenge if you are dumb enough to get caught fighting too many of them at once.

How does the game handle players at different points of the game? Is the game map and progress based on the host's game progression?

As I hadn't started playing it yet it's hard to say. Panzer had done the first mission from the beta already, so while I was doing it he was unable to find the mission in the map to "join" me. He was still able to come along and fight and see everything, though.

My guess is the host's progression will indeed dictate what is already done/explored/opened, as most of these types of games (Far Cry, Borderlands, etc) tend to be.

RSharpe, I didn't notice the animations. I am usually too focused/busy shooting something to catch that. biggrin

The way I understand it is this: Suppose you and I both have game. You are just starting, and I am 1 week into it.
We can hook up in Coop (YES!) and regardless of who hosts, we will get the missions. For YOU they will be NEW missions, in Yellow Color, and selectable.
For me, they will be in White (played). I have the ability to join your mission and replay it, but I will not get all the 'goodies' I picked up before. Once picked up, they are picked up.
So in this case we finish the mission and you are running around collecting stuff. I can't, I already did. But I get points for Targets and possibly the completion (for you)

When we end the Coop, we are still in the Single Player Campaign, with your missions that you HAVEN'T COMPLETED left for you to do. Those you completed in Coop are done.
So you get credit for the missions you play in Coop. Yay! And all the goodies you pick up. Yay!

Bill has it right. There is essentially no "double-dipping" allowed in the game. smile

You can replay any mission at any time, like resetting the outposts in Far Cry, if you want to experience it again. You will not receive the rewards twice, other than for the combat itself.

Thanks for the co-op info.

I just wish those dummies at Ubisoft had half a clue about firearms and paid better attention detail to lend the smallest shred of credibility to the Tom Clancy claim. But I guess these days, Tom Clancy just means, Ubisoft-modern-military-themed-shooter-video game.

I just got the G28... and it's scaled to a 5.56mm AR. Look how big the character's hands are in comparison, and look how big an SR-25 looks in comparison.

Better than Rainbow Six Vegas where the guns were HUGE and so were the hands. LOL

Maybe the guy is just huge?

**shrug** I honestly don't think anyone here expected a very realistic military shooting simulation with this game. This is not trying to be ArmA 3.

There seems to be an absurd number of guns in this game, actually. R6, GR, Arma, all of them have historically had way more guns than I ever wanted.

I tend to find a favorite of each type--a good SMG, a good LMG, a good sniper rifle, a good pistol, and a good AR--and then I never switch away from them. smile

Same here. That's why I went after what I wanted before getting into the story. It might not be realistic, but I like that you can change out weapons on the go if you decide you need an SMG more than a sniper rifle. Fun should come before realism in a game, not be sacrificed for it.
I like having the options of a lot of weapons. I'm also glad there aren't 100 versions of the same weapon with color codes and crap like in the Division ensuring that you're always behind the curve with what you're carrying.

Cosmetic changes are fine as long as they're cosmetic and not a stat change. I don't want to have to carry a teal shotgun to get the stats I want!
