Apparently this will be two private individuals, paying customers, and no "trained" astronauts onboard with the mission being flown/controlled remotely from Earth. Wow, just WOW.

To be perfectly honest even if I had the money to pay for a trip like that I would be too scared to go. Lol.
And remotely controlled? Yikes. I really hope that trip goes well.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

It would be funny if the two people going on the trip are named Dave and Frank.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Excellent video LJ. You couldn't get me on any rocket under any circumstance though. I do wish Elon Musk nothing but success if for no other reason than for the welfare of his passengers. One thing that I could very well see happening though is the refusal to allow passengers to fly on the first flight to the moon since the concept would not have been proven with an unmanned flight.
I believe the SpaceX planned schedule has the Dragon capsule ferrying astronauts to the ISS occurring before the moon circumnavigation mission. They should also have the Falcon Heavy lift system proven by then. That leaves their ability to successfully circumnavigate the moon as the remaining big unproven item, and that one probably is not as much of a concern with today's computing power compared to the days of the Apollo missions.
Stuff happens, so the schedule may slip, but I think SpaceX will pull the mission off, even if it is later. I like the concept that Musk laid out earlier for getting to Mars, and I hope SpaceX gets the chance to go for it later.
I was hoping to see space elevators sooner. None of that tricky pyrotechnics stuff and no sci-fi break through in propulsion needed. Just take a several hour trip straight up or down.
