I'm sure I'm not the only one here who will be gutted at this news. He was superb in Aliens, Apollo 13 and even True Lies.

Maybe not a leading man, but an excellent supporting actor. Sympathies to his family.

Bill Paxton
His IMDB page shows he was in a few movies and shows before it but the first movie I remember him in was the Terminator. He had bit parts in several of Arnold's earlier movies.

RIP

Oh man, that's rough. I wonder what complications and what kind of surgery?
Doesn't seem that long ago he was Chet on Weird Science. He never seemed to age to me. Always likable in his roles, it's nice he was so highly respected by his peers.

Supposedly he died from a clot that was thrown post op after heart surgery. Not sure what kind of heart surgery, but it's certainly a big risk, especially in valve replacement and aortic repair. May God rest his soul, he's one of the few actors that truly seemed genuine.

That's a movie I have never got around to seeing. Perhaps I'll give it a watch now.

Really terrible news. My condolences to his family. He was always a very underrated actor.

He had a way of being such a memorable character in every movie he was in, even if not playing one of the main characters.

RIP and respect.

Just terrible.

I think I have all of his movies, even enjoy the cheesy "Twister".

I also thought of Chet, "How about a nice greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?"

RIP.

I thought Weird Science was the first film I had seen him in but checking his IMDB he was in Terminator the year before.

I've seen him in great films and cheesy films and he was always entertaining. He never disappointed. He was deserving of the titles "actor" and "entertainer" and I'm genuinely sad he won't be around anymore.

Haven't seen Training Day, but I thought his stint on Agents of SHIELD was great, he was fun in Two Guns, and I'm delighted he got to participate in the Aliens 30th anniversary events last year.

Truly sad.

Was very sorry to hear, he was a genuinely good actor and seemed like a good man. Just watch Simple Plan..... just brilliant.

Yes, one of those actors who were just a joy to watch on screen. If you love movies, this is very sad news.
