It's not the game that proved deadly, it's the stupidity of doing such "marathons" without consideration for the needs of the body.

Could be, if he was prone to sitting for long gaming and video editing sessions as a game vlogger, that doesn't help. Still, you can't jump to conclusions when it comes to heart attacks.
Unfortunate, he did some good with his popularity raising money. Sounds like Markiplier in that respect. Those guys can raise a surprising amount of money like that.

I'm betting his smoking habit had more to do with his death than did his gaming habit.

I seem to remember the same thing happening several years ago, only this time it was World Of Warcraft (or something very similar). I guess there is always the edge of the envelope gaming guys who will occasionally intersect with the edge of the envelope ways to die guys.

The news media always implies a connection between playing a game for a long time and death. It's a "sexy" headline that attracts readers/viewers and thus increases ratings. Having a headline that states that the cause of death is unknown or perhaps was due to some preexisting conditions is NOT viewed by the news media machine as something that is "attention grabbing".

I'm waiting for the first Netflix binge watcher to die and then we'll get all of those headlines.
