Before I even watch it I am NOT surprised they get along at all. They KNOW what it was like, all the rest is BS!

And how lucky was it that the show was filmed in 1982. That's the year that he passed away! I had the pleasure of meeting Adolph Galland at Oskosh. Mid to late eighties. Went with a buddy and we were looking at this beautiful 3/4 scale, scratch built, Focke Wulf 190. A chauffeured car drives up, and Galland climbs out of the back seat!! He was great and fielded a bunch of questions thrown at him from the growing crowd. Photographers came to take pictures. Some time later the EAA Magazine got delivered and I got a call from my friend, also an EAA member. "Hey Joe," he says. "Did you get the magazine yet?" "Yeah, why?" "Take a look on page twenty two," he tells me. There was Adolph Galland, And close by with some others, was my buddy Cesar and myself. Just thought that being in a photo with one of aviation's legends was pretty cool.

It makes me sad that both of these men of honor are no longer with us. It is estimated that only about 600,000 US WWII veterans remain alive. Out of 16 million.

Regardless of what they experienced in the war, no one can escape time.
