It really is a Far Cry type of large environment with civilians mixed in, but in a GR game. AI could be better, for example: slowly approaching the enemy camp, scoping it out. The squad is staying low and out of sight...except for the one guy that goes ahead and crosses the road. It isn't an RTS, so I know they're supposed to act somewhat on their own, but I didn't want that. However, unlike most games, they never fired before me unless I told them to, so never gave me away. There's much more positive than negative here. There are also more commands than I've seen in a GR game in a long time. It's not a twitch shooter, you're setting up the situation, but I'm sure some will miss the point and play it that way. Things can go south quickly as the enemy calls in reinforcements if you screw up. Oh, and shooting is taken more seriously. Bullet drop, travel time etc. I assume maybe wind? It's not simple point and click shooting. Shooting down the reinforcements chopper was tricky.

exactly... and I really need to stop with these alphas and betas.... played both Fort Honor, bored of the full game within 5 ranks. same is happening here, but I do think with 4 player, like minded coop it will be much better, just haven't gotten 4 friends together yet. it's Far Cry 4... but with a team. minus the hunting of animals and picking flowers.

I hear ya. Too much of a good thing gets dull. Far Cry 2&3...loved them. 4...bored and never finished.
Love Assassins Creed Black Flag & Rogue. Unity and Syndicate aren't quite as good, but they're fresh and still excellent . More of the same wouldn't really be a good thing.

Loving this game even more after some co-op last night! Best shooter in years. I felt the same about FC4. More of the same, just hated to even crank it up even though I loved FC2 and FC3. With the squad and possibility of co-op, it's far more tactical than FC could be. You can take the stealth approach if you want, taking out everyone in an area without setting off an alarm. You can even find them sleeping at night.

Personally, I'm enjoying it.
Kept my expectations low, considering it would be a classic Ubisoft open-world based recipe and the usual Ubisoft games jank and whatdya' know, it's exactly that. But it still has a lot of great qualities that I like, the customization, the possibilities of approaches for each mission or zone, on-the-fly changing of loadout, the movement system that is very close to MGS5 and the ability to join or have someone join you at any time, it's great. Does help that I haven't really played many of the Ubisoft open world titles, so I haven't really gotten bored of their somewhat stale recipe.
I do find the game gets a lot better when you go for the tactical / stealth approach.
Overall, I'm definitely buying it.

Not sure how they did them, just feels fluid, feel very natural. Especially things like running down a hill, you have that momentum and those skips to keep your balance, it looks great. My main reference to MGS is things like going prone and then looking behind you, he turns around on his back and you can point your weapon. Lots of great little details like how they rest / the weapon as you sneak about, stuff like that. Just a very nice system. Environments are quite good, albeit a little flat looking at times due to performance I reckon and it being a console title as well. But there's some absolutely beautiful views, you have huge flocks of flamingos standing in the water, with their reflection on the surface. Lots of nice details.
Towns are a bit flat and robotic.
There's also weather and when it rains, you also go all shiny and wet :P I even got a bit of fog too, It's quite well done. Day and night cycles too of course.
But yes, there will be plenty to do but the main question is; will it keep you interested. The map not available in the beta looks MASSIVE, each area has main missions to kill a 'boss' and eventually, you kill the big boss of the entire operation. Plus the travelling, collecting weapons and attachments, all that, you'll have plenty to do. Just have to ask yourself if that Ubisoft open world recipe will keep you interested. If you can find someone to play the game with, especially on higher difficulty levels, I reckon the game will be even better.
I've got about 8 hours in the beta, completed it, found all the weapons and did the side-missions, already craving more.

The environment is supposed to be pretty varied, but still all in Bolivia. The beta map is, what, maybe 10% of the total? Missions are fairly varied, but it's still a shooter. Fairly impressive list of guns. I usually form negative opinions of games from betas, but not this one. It's going to be a good time solo and co-op.

Hey Mag, you wont be getting this on pc ? From your twitch feed, you were calling the shots, but you were the ones making the mistakes lol, you shot the at heli, missed your sinc target, and let the LT you said you were covering get to the chopper while you fixated on someone else, if it wasnt the sniper next to you, he would've flown away ,and OMG ! how did you not see that BRIGHT red circle to your side, you literaly walked into the grenade when you were safe from its blast HAHAHAh. Am i the only one who played OPEN Beta without markers ? makes things a whole lot interesting when you dont know how many there are on the map,or where someone is spotting you from, i would prefer if we could disable the audio cue as well. Another question for you, what settings are you using for twich video ? i tried once but the image was garbage. forgot to include the pictures https://imgur.com/a/k1Mkw----------------- Selfie time . i got a new sniping record ! i hope they keep the stats. the diference a spotter makes Also i dont understand what component they are using to judge tatical, i get most of my kills being stealth from 180m, enter compounds unnoticed metal gear style..... teaching a friend to snipe i really like this shot Ningún animal fue herido en la realización de esta película La Asociación Protectora de Animales Monteyuc
