There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

A true leader of men. RIP.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Indeed a great hero for many to emulate. I was so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet him when "We were Soldiers" was released back in 2001(?) and I was stationed at Fort Hood. They had several of the surviving members of the unit present, as well as LTG Moore and Mel Gibson. It was indeed a moving moment in my life to meet real history.

See you at Fiddler's Green Sir.

A great man by all accounts. We up here heard NOTHING on the news about his death frown

Our community choir learned and performed "Mansions of the Lord" from the film "We Were Soldiers"

it seems a fitting tribute to post a more professional version of it here.

RIP Sir
