Indeed, that is gorgeous.
I tried to play the previus version of the game but just could not make myself to shoot animals.

Is this the same 'The Hunter' that you used to have to pay a monthly fee to shoot certain animals? I did enjoy that for a while, but like Cheyenne I found shooting them difficult after a while. Not that I shot many,I was rubbish at tracking. It was a lovely looking game back then,I'm sure it's improved a lot.

Airplanes are now built to carry a pilot and a dog in the cockpit: the pilot's job is to feed the dog, and the dog's job is to bite the pilot if he touches anything...

Now, if a mod comes and changes the wildlife into IS militants... Try it anyway and just tell yourself, "If the deer runs, it's an IS militant. If it stands still, it's a highly disciplined IS militant." Or try listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayw7ljFGwp0Though from the looks of it, it might just be enjoyable just to stroll though.

I watched a video of it. It looks cool but limited in some ways. You can only used stands in pre-determined locations that you "buy" with resources. It's got lots of achievements and when you shoot an animal, glowing green markers helped you find it.
I'm assuming you can turn off all the helper stuff and play it for real. If so, then it should be pretty good. The old version of this game was limited to only shooting 300 yards. This apparently has lifted that so you can take some longer shots on game. i only breifly glanced at the settings bit but from what i can remember you can turn off a great deal of stuff. Its still a bit buggy, but its still enjoyable, and it does look fantastic .. though the water can look a bit iffy at times. Also, dont belive the FAQ bit about 21:9 monitors, whilst you can play the game just fine, the HUD icons are stretched and you cant see most of them, the menus all work fine though.

I notice that the text on the right hand side of the screen goes beyond the 1920x1080 screen area when you are in the menus, it is maybe only around 1/2 a character I'm loosing but it is annoying.

Wow, it looks amazing. Exactly like the forests it was modeled after. I looked into the predecessor one time because I'm a sucker for environmental eye candy but I couldn't get into their business model. I just bought this rather. Price point is what Steep should have been for this type of experience.

Shame this is a console port and will never be a true simulation PC players have been beta testing ( after paying full price) a rough port for the last 6 weeks, the list of bugs in this game is beyond belief.
Animal AI is retarded, they haven't even got round to balancing the sounds or providing 3D positioning yet, is nice to look at but that's about it.
