Can I ask a question about the Mission Editor?

If I do make changes before a mission and change the pilots and - maybe - the planes, does this in any way adversely affect the campaign and my progress through the campaign?

Will it affect injuries, claims, repairs, and so on?

I'd prefer not to upset the normal functions of the campaign.

If I got your question well, then answer is No. ME can alter just the very next campaign mission without modifying campaign outcome, pilot dossier and/or squadron roster.

I don't want to change my campaign data. But if I change the pilots and the planes, will that "confuse" the campaign engine?

No damage to campaign engine. I use it with all campaigns without any harm.
