Yikes! Glad to hear MFair is OK.

I should be back in the air in my old Aviatik tomorrow. Tough times on the German side! Hope I can hang on long enough to get a better aircraft.

You are a trooper 77_Scout! The Kaiser is very proud of you!

Railyard Bombing, June 12, 1916. Alfons Kemper's 8th mission.

Success!! Kommadant says "The railyard that was attacked sustained some damage! Job Well Done!"

Over the target:

One of our new pilots is listed as flying the Roland CII and several of the new planes are reported to be on order. Things are looking up.

____________________________________________

Edit/Addition: Mission #9 was a bust ... my engine crapped out only a few minutes into the mission.

Our first Roland has arrived. More should arrive soon. I seem to be at the bottom of the list to receive one. Whaaa

Ah, now with a Roland you may be able to score some victory points smile

Fingers crossed you get one soon!

Sadly, no points awarded to third pilots for getting kills (rules, you know!). Still, I will hopefully live much longer in a fast Roland so very excited to get on soon.

Ah, now I think that's a rule that needs amending. What bloody idiot came up with that one in the first place?... ahem.

@ 77 Scout: your 2 seater career seems to have better luck than your solo flying attempts!
Glad to see you're doing well!

@ Lederhosen, Close Call sir!!!

My pilot has missed a few weeks flying, but managed to patrol out on the 12th. Condensed report below!

Cheers!

Latest scores.... and I had completely messed up Lederhosen's score for Hermann. Actually, Lederhosen is showing us all how it should be done, and has the leading pilot for both the Entene and CP!

I've updated my TrackIR... now I need the "old" sgl & sgl.sig Files to make it work again with WOFF. I did some Missions before that - Summary will follow - but to continue, I'll have to fix that problem, first...

Harry I just sent 2 of the same mission by mistake. If one says I lost "8" wingmen...disregard that one.

I think the boss is trying to kill me. We have seven Aviatiks and one Roland ... but guess what flies? Me in my Aviatik and one other flier in the Roland. The Kommandant doesn't send up any of the other boys in the old Aviatiks; too dangerous! I, on the other hand, seem to be expendable. Hmmpff.

June 18, 1916: Back to bomb the railyard northwest of Arras. No damage done. Our bomb aiming ability seems to be sadly lacking. Happily the same can be said for the British AA gunners...

and the Kaiser has given us new toys to play with.
Turns out that our old EIV is faster and has a better climb rate though. Perhaps in a scrap the new machine may prove to be better.

Okay, now here's my first E-Fokker tumbling downwards:

Although it has been confirmed, the whole Mission wasn't countes as Success, because our Bomber wasn't able to hit his Target (Comment: Quite odd... usually confirmed Kills automatically make a Mission successful...)

The next Mission was a good Example for the Rule: Shoot first - make Pictures later... as you can see here:

aaaaaaaand: Bam!

The Engine was still running, but essentially at Idle, plus I had to glide back to our Lines over a Battery full of Trigger-happy Germans...

I managed to land some Meters behind our own Battery.
That Mission brought me no Kill, but aother 4 Days in Hospital... and I consider myself lucky... could have been worse...

Alfons Kemper will never get his Roland. Sent out solo yet again in his outdated Aviatik, he encountered three Nieuport fighters near Bellevue and was shot down; never had a chance.

Looks like that's the end of RIR Part 2 for me. A pretty poor showing, going through all three pilots in just nine weeks, but great fun nonetheless!

Scout, it was a valiant effort. It's hard to stay alive in a good machine much less an outdated tub! Sorry brass hats, sending off young men alone knowing there time is up.
