This is my new simulator mockup. I used cheap wood and cardboard and foam board. I used my late father's electric wheelchair chair for the seat. I cut off the bottom parts and mounted it on a base with appliance rollers so I can roll back and forth. The 2x4s act as a guide and will be different in the permanent pit. After I am satisfied with it I will use these parts as templates for the finished pit. The sticks in the seat are in the holes where foot rests were. I will be using this for chair locks to secure the seat while playing to prevent it from rolling. These will look like ejection seat handles.

The 22 inch monitor will be for TM MFDs and Helios display. I will have 3 x 32" monitors. The black pieces on the dash represent Saitek instruments and controls.

Moving in/out with the chair is the key. I would also suggest a "floor" under your pit where everything is connected to. It'll help with the rolling in/out and it'll also mean your weight adds to the stability of the setup.

This is only a mockup. The final will have a floor (base)with wheels in case I need to move it.
