I am just starting to fly helos in eech with the 1.16.0 allmods installed and have a few questions / problems with the joystick setup.First off, I am using a Saitek X55 Rhino Stick and Throttle quadrant; and Saitek Pro Flight Rudder pedals. Everything is working fine (once I figured out to click multiple times in the controls setup in EECH) but I have a couple of issues. First: I have a deadzones on all devices, No deadzones set in the X55 software and edited the EECH.INI to supposedly remove any deadzones(set all to linear as I read a post here to do so). I don't mind the deadzones on the stick and rudder too much, but having a deadzone in the middle of the throttle quadrant controlling the collective is driving me nuts.

Second problem: I am going to use the X55 software to program the keyboard commands to all the switches / buttons... I want to use; but am having a problem with the first 4 buttons; as they are internally programmed by EECH as 1:fire weapons, 2:select next weapon, 3:select target, 4:padlock target. Is there any way to disable / remap these 4 buttons in EECH? I especially want button 4 as the Trim command (T on the keyboard mapped to the thumb button on the stick{4} with the X55 software) and as it is now, it does both padlock target through EECH and Trim{T} through the X55 software at the same time! I have looked through the EECH folder for any type of joystick config files, searched the internet for answers; both without any luck.

1. there should be no deadzone if it's disabled in options. how you discover it - by feelings only, or you also see at the controls reaction bar in the settings?

2. no other way to disable these keys rather than edit source code.

deadzone is evident in both the controls action bar and obvious when flying the helo.

Well I tried a work-around that has worked with other older games- I installed VJoy: a program that installs a virtual joystick that can combine all axes and buttons from multiple devices into 1 virtual joystick; and UJR (Universal Joystick Remapper): which does the actual translating of the axes and buttons to the VJoy device / driver. No luck, EECH does not recognize the VJoy device, only sees the X55 stick, Throttle and Saitek Pedals axes. Has anyone ever used VJoy / UJR with EECH with any luck?

Just to chime in on this, I'm having the same deadzone issue with my X52 pro.

My configuration is identical to Megatherions. In my USB controller panel and other games, no deadzone is present.

I know this is a bit old but I figured this was the same question to ask...

How I would map the pinky switch button to 'Keypad Enter' key for locking targets?

1. is this possible? My pinky switch under Game Controllers Highlights Button 6 on the Game Controller setup screen.

2. Does EECH only recognize Game controllers with 4 buttons?

Can I Edit EECH.ini to add additional controller button mappings?
Or do I have to use external program like Joytokey for keyboard emulation

Has anyone tried this with EECH yet... does it work?

Using Latest Version 1.1.60 with All Helos addon and UH60 addon.

You must use external mapping program.from what i know All working with eech.

I tried Joy to key and it works in windows but when I launched EECH it did Not recognize the key presses.

I Tried relaunching both programs as administrator no luck....

Any other Programs or other methods of trouble shooting would you recommend?

what about Saitek Smart Technology keymapper software? it did work perfectly fine with mine X52

There also exits a new software from the guy that has made UJR, it's now called UCR "Universal Controller Remapper". Maybe this will fix the problems you have, but I could not promise.

I'm mostly working at my pit at the moment and hadn't much time to test it myself, but it looks like a superb successor to UJR.

The other program I know is joystick gremlin. Have experimented with it a bit, but for me it doesn't work. Maybe it's a problem with my system.
