I just purchased a used Trackir5 from eBay that is missing the base that sits on the monitor. Checking if anybody has one stuck in the back of a drawer or closet from a dead IR they are not using.

It's like $12.50 after shipping IIRC. For me, I had an old PS EYE Camera Mount lying around and I stuck a magnet in the mount and the TIR5 holds on great. Just an option.

Yes of course, if one has stuff laying about, "re-purposing" is always a good idea (especially since it's usually free!).

Hi, I am Falstar, and I'm a re-purposing addict. I know the base is available for $12.50 on their site, but I'm always looking for a better deal being on a tight budget. If my wife can use the "It was on sale" argument I'm sure as hell will use the "It was a great deal" comeback.

Right now, using the blue tack method, but would like to be able to swap the TrackIR between laptop and desktop, hassle free.
I know this bunch is the biggest tech-hoarders around. So tired here before throwing money at NaturalPoint.
