Well my current CPU and cooler is as follows:

1. i5 3570K @ 4.3ghz
2. Coolermaster 212+

That keeps it really cool, that is why I was thinking of going with the Evo.. but I guess the Noctua will be a bit better and I plan for 4.5ghz so hopefully it will do the job..

I hope you didn't see this discussion as questioning your decision; it's not that at all but rather "what's the best cooling solution for a given budget?" I do apologize for the confusion.

Having said that, the point is moot if we go by the price difference between here and on your side of the pond. The fact that the H60 is cheaper there puts it in a different bracket altogether and makes it more "bang for buck," but since the price is different here, the "value" it has compared to other cooling options diminishes greatly.

I would be greatly interested in hearing your previous troubles and why you've opted for your current solution, whatever that may be. Like I said, I initially looked at AIO watercooling options too but the risks involved and the regional pricing helped me finalize my decision.

@ Neph: I can say that while the Evo is a great little cooler, well, if you have the budget for something beefier, why not?

Well this morning I went to MicroCenter and ordered all the parts. I opted for a 212X and some Cord=sair Vengence RAM, I could not wait for newegg HeHe!!

WEll I installed Win 7 and ran into a bit of weirdness. I did read how KabyLake does not work with Win 7 and I am beginning to believe that.. Now it is probally a combo of the Win7, Z270 Chipset and Intel.. But either way 7 was not working properly and I just opted to install Win 10..

I am just about finishing up on finalizing a few things but so far so good. I even managed to get the OC to 4.5GHZ, I still need to stress test it a bit but have not had many issues.. there have been a few Gremlins but I think it was just because I was Downloading big games and trying to install and run other programs..

So far Win 10 Worked with Elite Dangerous and nThusim, that is warping software for my curved screen.. Before I was not able to launch ED it would just not start but now it does no preoblems..

Hopefully this works out well and I can get too like Win 10 so far not too much trouble.. but intrusive but not bad..

I was able to get a Final OverClock of 5.1ghz.. I had to install Win 10, for some reasons win7 would not function properly.. It did state I can only use Win 10 with Kaby Lake so it must of been that..

Also I found Rapid mode for my SSD which caches the Ram and makes the SSD even faster.. This PC is pretty solid and fast.. I like it just got to get more used to Win 10 which is OK I just disabled Updates on the PC for now as I don't want it automatically updating and breaking things..

I am debating on selling the old pats to my Brotherinlaw for a family discount of coarse.. I would just give it away but hey I need to get some more funds for my Home Theater Project upgrade time there too

A lot of motherboard have a firmware update if you want to use W7, but you might as well go ahead with 10. It's fine, just annoying about it's updates. Otherwise I like it.

Hi, I am sorry Ice where do you see 67C?? I looked at my link and the previous thread I did not mention 67c.. I did mention after the heat levels where at around 80 @ 4.5ghz.. I currently have it clocked in at 5.1ghz and temps are about 86C with Intel burn test..

the Case is a CoolerMaster HAF 932 AMD Edition.. I bought it for 80bucks some years ago at tigerdirect

OK I seen it now, not sure what temp that was it is about 30c idle.. I might turn it back down to 5.0ghz..

Is your cpu really maxed out, or just doing this out of pure interest?

Well the CPU is maxed as it stands right now.. I can delid it and get the temps down and get higher Clock probally on air.. But I am hesitent to delid it afraid I'll break the cpu or something.. and besides if I delid it now the warranty is gone.. I could also add a WC loop without delidding and probally get a bit mor of an OC..

I am doing this to make my PC run at its fastest all the time.. I will run the OC all the time.. I ran my last cpu at 4.3ghz for 5 years.. I don't see a problem but may clock it back down from 5.1 to 5.0ghz just because the voltage is so much higher for that .1 speed increase..
