Gentlemen:

I have a code for the GRW Closed Beta this weekend. I believe I can invite folks to try out the coop and that these need not be people who are already in the Beta (can someone correct me if I am mistaken, please?)

I thought I would do some coop with my old partner Lord Flashheart at 10:00 am US PST on Sunday. We could get a game together at other times over the weekend, too but there will be complications arising from the fact that it's my wife's birthday on Saturday and I will be expected to acknowledge this, grrr.

I would much rather play with voice comms if possible. I see no sign at all of the SimHQ Teamspeak server; has it gone bye-bye? Flash and I often use Steam chat; does anyone know if more than two people can talk on the same channel in Steam? If not, how might we proceed, any suggestions? I have TS3 and I think Win 10 came with Skype.

Critics are saying that coop is where it's at with Wildlands. Let's see if we can find out during this narrow Beta window. It would be great if we could get a team together and open a can of tactical whup-ass.

I am up for joining you guys. I have access to both the PC and Xbox 1 Beta. I can play pretty much anytime and as for comms I am sure we can find a Discord or alternate TS server to use.

Only PC for Flash and me, xIGunDoCIx. Can you possibly locate a decent, possibly gaming-orientated TS3 server? I haven't used TS in a couple of years. Once we get that, I can find you in there, or is there a better way to ping each other online at short notice? Steam is good. I am Strummer on Steam.

Does anyone know how the invitations to coop work? Is it true that you don't have to be in the Beta? If so, then I assume you will not have to preload/download the Beta game?

I tried to sign up for the beta, but I wasn't issued a code this time around. I really want to put the game through it's paces before shelling out $$$ after being burned by The Division last year.

I have a headset, but I'm not sure if there's in game comms built in.

When I played the beta demo for For Honor, there was an option to invite friends from the uPlay page for the game. If it works the same way for Wildlands, you should be able to invite other players through uPlay.

BTW, I'm pretty sure you need to issue the invites, and your contacts will have to download the game before everyone is able to play together. I believe the game size is around 25GB.

Right. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I received one code from a friend of a friend at Ubi and no guest codes. This will put the kibosh on playing coop with anyone other than others with their own codes and the Beta pre-installed. I just emailed my contact to request an allocation of guest codes. I will keep you posted. If I get any codes tomorrow, I will give them out here and you will still have ample time to preload the game before the Beta starts.

No worries if you can't blag any more codes. Just report back on the game. Interested to know if there is a hardcore mode that removes most of the intrusive HUD junk. I've seen that AI can be ramped up in difficultly to 'Ghost' by annoyingly all the on-screen furniture seems to stay.

(Lots of on-screen HUD info would make sense story-wise if you were supposed to be an elite unit with Land Warrior/network-centric comms - a la the original GR, Warfighter + Future Soldier - but given these Ghosts/Delta/SEALs seem to be relying minimally on future tech, the HUD seems a distraction)

Turns out my code was just very slow in coming. I think Ubisoft was running the For Honor and Wildlands betas too close together. Anyhow, BAhger, you have my contact on Uplay. If you can contact me through there when you're playing your session if you still need players.

Oh, so this WAS this weekend.

I signed up but did not get the beta code.

I did however get a Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 code, but that has no MP.
So I won't rush to get it even if I find I do like it after spending time with it this weekend. I have enough SP-only games right now that I don't need to add another at full price!
