This is my latest project, "Design it, Drive it : Speedboats".

It's a high fidelity simulator that lets you design and drive your own speedboats from around 25-30 parameters. The boats are procedurally generated from the design parameters you specify, so every little tweak affects the handling and top end performance of the boat. The motion is solved using thousands of forces at the per-polygon level directly on the boat mesh. The boats can chine walk and blow over much like real boats. Hundreds of forces are involved in the computation of the force feedback alone.

Hi Todd, is rougher water simulated?

I do my boating at sea so I'd be interested in that.

The sim looks realistic to me, btw.

Thanks, Vitesse.

Rough water: Unfortunately not. It's just smooth water at this point.

Todd... as a recent new boater, I'm interested... thanks and will be checking it out. (I have been trying to find some game that has realistic docking , current, and wind situations... like to see that in some day.) wink

Interesting, but some championship, racing modes against AI would be nice. Would be interesting to see AI coming up with its own designs.
