Anyone here using Photobucket? I've been using that site for years to host pictures but lately, I've noticed that the posts I've made with pictures linked to the Photobucket site no longer show up. "Refreshing" the links does nothing. Is this happening for anyone else too?

Are there any suggestions for an alternative site?

I stopped using Photobucket when they changed the format of their site and started compressing images, which was very annoying. I switched to Imgur and it has worked well for the past couple of years or so.

I went over to Photo Bucket to post my painting of the destroyer, and geez! There were so many ads that the site came to a standstill. Couldn't even use it. I went to Image shack and posted the picture with no problem.

Can you have your own "bucket" on those sites as well? And change stuff from private access to public access?

I did get annoyed when Photobucket went with so many ads, I use an ad-blocker software and I need to "allow" that site everytime I use it but it's just inexcusable now!

Exactly, Photobucket has been so overloaded with advertising that it is not usable anymore. Minutes of waiting, and ads popping up all the time.

But I guess it gets better if you buy an account .. yep

Agree on that, Photobucket is a bit of a mare to use now with long wait times and pop up ads then having to refresh as it didn't load properly. Gone to www.imgur.com now

I had a bunch of pictures stored on PhotoBucket, but I didn't use it so much for the last 2-3 years. Logged in to my account a couple of months ago, nothing there. All pic gone. I contacted PB about that and the response was, in effect, "woops, sorry, your pics are gone".

P bucket is so full of adds I cannot get in to see my old stuff most of the time. I now use SmugMug and love it.
