Excellent shot Deacon. I like the damage.

Sandbagger, somehow I doubt it! salute

Hi Deacon211,

Interesting skin you have done, The original skin looks like actually from Woff Heinrich Gontermann´s albatros dv from jasta 15. Where you got the reference picture for the skin? I mean was there some profile picture of the Max Muller´s last aircraft?

Hey Paarma,

Sorry, I missed this post.

That's a good eye. Gontermann is the original owner of the paint job!

Max Mueller is (or was) my Centenary DiD pilot. He is completely fictional. Just for fun, I paint up a skin for my pilots. But as I would never have the skill to create a camo like this from scratch, I generally take a historic skin that has some area for personalization (i.e. a blank fuselage or a band that I can put something on) and edit it. For instance, Max didn't get to keep this skin for long so I decided to make it the skin of my "N" pilot whose name escapes me at the moment.

Rather than redoing the letter thing I went for a runic symbol this time. Trying to avoid any that have connections to Nazis, neo or otherwise. Went for the traditional meaning of "Strength and honor through sacrifice" as being appropriate to a German pilot of the time.

As always, hats off to Lou, OvS, and any others that have painted the original skins...they are magnificent.

Now if I could find some time to get back to DiD. wink

Hello gents,

Thought I'd post a few pics. as proof of how WOFFue works well even on a lower-end Mac (quad-core Mac Mini in this case). Pics. are not embellished and no Photoshop applied - while not as spectacular as some of the pics. posted here, I think it works quite well in WineSkin on a Mac (keep in mind that a better video card would give better results; mine is the Intel integrated 4000 card, with 1GB of RAM, shared from the system; must top up to 16GB system RAM for the the integrated vid. card to take 1GB for itself on these Mac Minis, otherwise it runs on 512MB by default). FPMs rarely drop below 20/sec. even on lower-end setups, and they remain fairly consistent, with no stuttering or pauses (I recommend the sticky that contains more info. on installation procedures for a Mac, if interested).

Happy flying,
Von S
