Oooo, the History Channel is airing a new mini-series about Seal Team 6 tonight (Jan 22) ... can anyone here tell us how it is without any spoilers?

I would say it's similar to 'The Unit' tv series, if you've seen that one.

There's interactions in hostile locations and parts of the show are back at home, dealing with family/home life.

It's difficult to say more that's not a spoiler.

I've watched "The Unit" series twice and I'm about to watch it for a third time. smile

On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate the first episode of SIX?

I'd give it a 6.5 - 7. Its basically "The Unit" with a bigger budget. They spent a bit too much time depicting state side/family life in my opinion but I guess they wanna try to get women interested in the show too..I'll be checking out the next episode before I make a like/dislike decision.

Yeah, wasn't really as great as I thought it might be, but it isn't bad enough that I won't watch the next episode. They have a couple of "hooks" to keep me interested for now.

I got 20 mins into Six and started looking into it on IMDB, terrible ratings and from what I saw 20 mins in I deleted the show and didn't bother recording any others. What a shame

I figured being on History Channel, it was likely garbage. And after watching the first episode, I was correct in my assumption.

I thought being on History Channel that it would be a documentary, or at least be more realistic. But I'm watching it and thinking, "Would they really do this in real life? Would they really act this way towards each other?"

I think I'll give it one more chance, but I really miss the Unit and hate how they got canned so abruptly without being able to finish the story arcs.

You're thinking of the 1990's era History Channel.

While today might very well be the "golden age of (scripted) television", the 90s were really the golden age of nonfiction TV.
Reality TV was around, but I'm not referring to that (because it was also fiction smile ).

A&E, Discovery (Wings), TLC, all those channels came on the air or grew in ratings and presented really awesome stuff. Some of it was 2 hours, some an hour, some even just 30 minutes, but it was really good. Informative, well produced, nonsensationalist, accurate (for the most part) programming on a variety of topics. Ancient Rome, Pacific battles in WWII, Civil War battlefields, Spanish conquistadores, you name it.

A shame all that stuff has been tossed for TMZ's history of the Revolutionary War (Ben Franklin will shock you!)

In the 90s, "six" would have been a documentary about Hitler's Top 6 Henchmen.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

Himmler, Goering, Goebbels, Heydrich, Bormann and von Ribbentrop. Those are my picks!
