I'm sorry. I have another question for anyone who can help.

When you do the training in a B.E.2c, you fly by yourself in the two-seater. However, when I try to duplicate these training flights in Free Flight mode, an observer is always sitting in the other seat. I assume this is true for the other two-seaters as well.

Is there any way to get rid of the observer in Free Flight just like in the training?

I just want to fly around and practice maneuvers and get to know the various planes. I really don't want to have this odd man staring me in the face as I do these practice maneuvers!

How can I remove him? This seems like it should be possible as he's not there in the training sessions.

Thank you once again!

T3G, I don't know if there is a way unless the plane's XDP file can edited. You could simply choose the BE12 to do your free flights in as it basically a single seat version of the BE2.

Fly QC mission with BE2c
Save it as scenario OR you can manually edit the XML file.

exit WOFF and copy the XML file from the historical folder in game directory to a safe location.
Edit file with notepad and replace "OBS" with "SOL".
Save file in the British scenario folder.
Fly the scenario.

Only works with British or German training crafts.

OldHat,

Fantastic! I'm very grateful for your help. There's no way I'd have ever figured that one out for myself!

ask and ye shall receive. there's a bit of arcana I'd never of heard of save for this marvelous forum. so....here's another. If you can't do real time and use 2X, 4X, 8X, 12X like I do......there's another choice. 2x, I find, is too slow, and 4x is a bit too fast if things eventuate quickly....which they always seem to do when you least expect it. So....if you briefly dial up to 12x and then back...you can find 3x....which seems to be the sweet spot for paying attention in time to avoid disaster....if you can't sit still for real time. Increasing to 2x, 4x, 8x, and then back won't do it.......you have to increase to 12x and then dial back and 3x shows up.....at least on this happy WOFF UEer's rig. Love to hear if this works elsewhere! Cheers.....

Training uses different models totally. So you have to edit the mission as Oldhat says, but replace _QC1 or _Sqd with _SOL for the aircraft used.
