I admit... I haven't watched a single game in full length this year. TV stations changed, private appointments.

But I'm thrilled to see my Packers again having a go to make it into the Superbowl. They sure know how to turn a game the last minute and it's just exciting to watch.

What are your predictions? Hard to imagine we don't have an NFL thread this year, anyway?

I think the football that the NFL puts out today is an extremely poor product. It's market is over saturated and is wearing out it's welcome with such poor competition. Add in all the Goodell, Brady, and the slew of stories that have come out in the last few years about wife/child abuse, criminal activities and IMO football is no longer enjoyable.

I watch my Pats every time but I rarely sit through another game the rest of the week.

Who's going to the Superbowl? Well I know one team will make their 8th championship - either Pittsburgh or the Patriots. I personally don't think Pittsburgh has enough to over come the Pats. They are a great team. They have talent but I think a few key areas are advantage NE.

I'd like to see Atlanta win. A family member shares the same name as Atlanta's QB and he's been excited about Matty ICE since he was a pree-teen. So I root in commiseration... sort of.

But man, Rogers is unbelievable. Just when you think you can put a fork in GB they spring back in the most incredible ways.

Ultimately, It's going to be a 1997 grudge match with the Pats and Packers in the Superbowl. I think Pat's defense will far outshine GBs defense and that will be the tipping point in the Pat's favor.

Pats 36 GB 17.

Well it looks good for Atlanta. Maybe it's Matt Ryan's year. The NFL needs some fresh faces. The biggest problem the NFL has is too many commercials. Then the over saturation of the game by all the ancillary stuff. All the talk shows, the twitter nonsense and so on. It seems there is more talk about what a player did or said off the field then what he did on the field.

I "took a knee" on the NFL this year.

No Dak, no care.
Best thing to happen to the NFL in I don't know how long.

If you don't know about him, don't worry, one day there will probably be a movie. thumbsup

thrilled my Pats crushed the Steelers, not a fan of their coach. I love Football, watch the Red Zone when ever the Pats aren't playing.

Falcons look damn good against the Packers, will be a tough Super Bowl 51 for sure.

I'd say the Seahawks and the Ravens

GB has a long long way to go. Rogers can't be the only consistent player. Their defensive coordinator needs to go.
On the other hand I felt Atlanta's defense played well. Once you're playing catch up by such a margin a team can get sloppier. Witness so many errant throws and dropped passes.

Pats and Falcons. WOOOOOO HOOOOO! I think Atl's offense is ever so slightly better than the Pat's. It's small but a lead none the less. Our defense is very very confident right now. Yes Steelers played crap but even when Pittsburgh was working it down field, the Pat's defenders were solidly tackling and being in the right place in the right time. Just like they drew it up.

Pats 28 - 24. (same score as the Pat's Seagulls last SB game.

Top Gun. Did you hear Tomlin's presser last night? "Those arssholes can play."

The Patriots have become the football equivalent of the NY Yankees from 1926-1964.

Am I the only one who saw this thread title and thought the Chinese had bought the sponsorship to rename it Superbowl Li?

It's easy to look impressive against GB's defense. Pats won't roll over like that. I give an ever, ever, ever so slight advantage to ATL's offense (not the QB though just in receiver talent) but the Pat's D will easily cover the difference.

Chancelled my Superbowl invitation...

Can't stand the Pats, and the Falcons are the team that beat my Packers, so I can't really get behind a horse in this race.

Guess that makes three of us.

Ayup.

Pro sports has steadily become less interesting to me. Between the thuggery, the highly compensated prima donna's periodic strikes, owners essentially extorting cities for new stadiums/arenas, etc., it has become more difficult to find redeeming value in them. The NFL in particular has really gone off the rails in recent years.

The most appealing part of watching the Superbowl is seeing what new commercials get debuted. If I do watch it, it will be the only NFL game I have watched this season.
