Yes, I think we did just fine. Your campaign was just starting, so a bit more dangerous, and so it proved for me. Schnidrman's was a little further along and far fewer intact threats, aside from that one SA-2 near Sariwon that 'we weren't too worried about' that ended up starring in Schnidrman's ACMI video

I had so much fun that I forgot it wasn't Friday. The beer was flowing pretty good last night and as a result, I was moving a little slow at work this morning. One of these days I'll try to do this sober and see if I do any better! That SAM site wasn't the one you were thinking DBond. That was a total surprise and I didn't have it marked in my DTC. The second one didn't miss by much and probably would've damaged my jet if it had detonated at it's closest point. I got lucky 'cause they were all tracking me. That second mission was pretty ballsy, but we all made it home. Too bad our AI escort crapped out on us. It sucked to lose those frames, but the 29's won't bother us for a while now. What we achieved in that mission would've taken me three or four trips to the area we were in, had I been single player. Shows how much more effective things can be in MP. Let's do it again soon!

No, sober's no good. Keep the tap open.
Just say the word and we'll give it another go.

Haha, that's about right. Flankers aren't nearly so menacing with a few pints in you.

Excellent. Good work, when do you want to fly again? We'll test it out. I'm free tonight, but not again until at least Tuesday night.

Nacman, we saw you in TS lobby. We jumped out of the BMS room to invite you to join us, but you were AFK evidently.
I was learning to edit my key file and was remapping TS and deleting fraps stuff and then testing. The whole time I didn’t have my headset on and had my head buried more in the Excel file. I was having a hard time not understanding why remapping flaps keys wasn’t working. Then I remembered the F-16 is flyby wire and don’t react to manual setting of the flaps. Once I figured it out and tested it on The Hog it was all good. I finally talked to schnidrman just when he was about to bug out. But honestly I’m not quite ready to fly until I understand a little bit more about this whole new falcon. Having unlearn some stuff and learn new stuff. -Nacman

OK, no problem. How's the new kit? Did you try your TIR yet?
Thanks for the hops Axe, you were really cleaning up tonight. See you next time.

I knew it was for real when we had that chainsaw thing working on those subsequent inbound groups. You had the tally so I knew who I was running from. Thanks for the campaign tips too. Solved a big one that troubled me a long time. Next time will be good too.

Yeah, after starting the previous session with two silk elevators, it was nice to string together a few landings Thanks for the campaign tips too. Solved a big one that troubled me a long time.
What are you referring to? What was the issue?

OK, yes. 16 hours should be do-able, especially in that Iron Fortress, since they do not have far to fly from their base in Japan, at least for E-8 and E-3. But as I mentioned last night I seem to lose control of them after a day or two and can rarely get one fragged past that point.
In the Balkans by contrast, they might have 300 miles to fly just to reach their station, which of course reduces their potential station (ELINT) time considerably. The 'red waypoints' method makes it easy.

In the KTO Tiger Spirit campaign I began last night, I set up my usual E-3 and E-8 flights at the start. These were fragged to patrol just south of Pyongyang, around Sariwon. Flying out of Kimhae or very near to it, they were able to do 16 hour patrols. Thanks for more info on this topic. I read the post you linked to and it's a good read too. Very good. I am surprised that you frag these guys so close to the front. I am a whole lot more scared to do that. I never have done it like that, so close I'd be afraid to jump in a flight for myself for fear of losing them while I was away. You do know you have them less than a 100 miles from the front? Heck it scared me when I saw that. You must be working the caps pretty good to keep em ok and safe. Man, that's just astounding you're working that out like that. Kudos for doing it. I had no idea it could be done.

They are 20 miles from the front! But I keep a solid BARCAP system shielding them. So they are safe, for the most part. It's possible for them to come under attack, just not very likely. Placing them so close however, means they can 'see' all the way to the Yalu, so any Reds flying are detected.
If you do not keep the CAPs in place, then yeah, this isn't recommended.

I'm thinking of doing a campaign AAR for my next run. It's alot of work, so I'm just throwing this out to see if folks would be interested in following along? I've done many AARs, both in F4 and other games/sims as well. But I do not recall ever doing one that detailed an entire Falcon campaign from start to finish. That's the plan anyway. You think this would be interesting?
