the first step for us do a review is for the developer to send a copy for review then we look for a reviewer.
-
I haven't seen any reviews of DCS in a while, last one I remember reading was one at Avsim a few years ago, from what I read in this forum there have been some done by people connected with the developer in some way, which is not the ideal thing.
there was one done by SimHQ on the P-51D which was very well written.
in all seriousness, I never posted a negative review, if we post a review is because the product is good.
although I must admit that we haven't reviewed any DCS product since the Ka-50 v1 was released, which should not be seen as necessarily negative, simply it did not happen.

Can you not simply buy the module and review it? I need two copies, one for the screenshots and one for the reviewer who usually does not have it. To me, all these alpha/beta/pre-release mayhem's negates the value of Reviews nowadays.
After the usual 32 years and the actual release status arrives, and a fair Review can happen, there is no interest for the module and depending on how raw the module was when it first reached customers the worse reputation it will have no matter how hard folks scream "it's a beta!" in the hundreads of complains filed by then. Customer experience stay no matter how many White Knights you unleash on your official forum.
This needs to change for the general future of flight sims but I cannot see that happen, even remotely. that is why it is good when the developer sends the copies early and you have a couple of months to get the feel of it. writing a good review is hard work - most people don't like to do it, that is why developers are happy to get people to review their products.

I intent to write there as soon as I can get my mittens on it when it releases . We may not get a review copy, but personally I'm fine with that. I only write about what I am interested in, "review copy" sounds too serious anyway, I like to keep it informal, as an actual outsider customer/flight sim fan, who is just talking about the new shiny toy he got for himself, and whether he likes it or not, including why . Since I was already interested in it, I preordered it and after it gets released and I can spend some time with it to get a feeling for its systems, feeling of flying it, and the quality of module at least in it's early state, I'll start writing one on the twomoreweeks. Though my IRL schedule is like hell these days, therefore actually writing it may take longer than I like. It is just as likely that Karl may beat me to the punch and do the Viggen first look on the site. On one hand, it'd be fair as it seems I published my F-5 review before he could finish his, but since I am quite interested in this bird, I would like to do the Viggen one myself . Glad to see there are people reading us too! Hope those of you who do, enjoy what you read there .

Hi there, TMW admin here. I'm just focusing on the news, which i'm terribly late because i'm also busy running our squadron and a large facebook page. They will be many reviews soon around the web from skilled writers, I just don't feel myself either 1/Good 2/Impartial* to write anything quality. And ED hates me way enough ! Twomoreweeks.net article section is actually open to everyone. Some people wants to write but doesn't neccessarily have the space / tools for this, so we dedicated a space where guys Like WinterH and some others can get write their own story/articles, far from some "marketing" pressure. *current LN customer wishing future LN customers a good luck

Great video! Wags certainly makes it look easy. I am curious if there will be English labels available on the module?

No, but there will be Russian ones. The Jedi Master LOL, I know, it was a potentially dumb question, received a dumb answer... But, when I purchased the Mirage 2000, everything was in French, makes sense being a French plane and all...but sorta lost interest seeing everything in French, though much of the stuff is internationally the same gauges. Perhaps the smarter question from me should have been is there an ability to change the labels of some of the gauges from any language to English, so it becomes a bit easier to learn? Now the reality is I have not dug too deeply into many of these modules in quite some time, so truly apologize for appearing to be a noob and possibly overlooking the obvious in a menu setting option.

Cobra has noted that indeed there will be a English cockpit version (though not all of the labels will be translated when the Swedish is very similar to the English one). I'm at work so will have to wait till I get home to provide the link that has Cobra's comment in it.

That would be fantastic, as I would love to dive into the Viggen once she's released and of a stabilized build. I always thought they were quite a cool jet when I was a kid, with the austere runway capabilities, unique reverse thrust design over more conventional designs and of course, it's double canard design.

Cobra, I have some questions about the module: 1) Aside from that minor addition, and the navigation system, I don't think we've ventured into gameplay concessions anywhere (at least, that I can recall) What gameplay concessions were made with the navigation system? 2) About the Rb-04: During the Grudge Match, we saw a flight of Viggen launching Rb-04's. However, instead of hitting a ship each, they all hit the same ship. According to this great post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178005 , the Rb-04's should hit different targets A) Are the Rb-04's fully pre-flight programmable with the Omkopplarpanel like the real thing? B) And was the reason that the Rb-04's misbehaved? Still on the fence about the Viggen, so I hope you could answer these questions =/
