Still a novelty, but I added a feature to the target editor to locate a particular TMod at every target, and place a selected TMod quite close to it.
Using this I placed a searchlight beam close to every Heavy AA gun.

Axis interdiction to London

The beam (currently TMod990) is selectable as a target and can be destroyed. This adds a bit of fun to the game.

The searchlights never follow aircraft, and I doubt that they ever will, but it adds a few possibilities to escort missions at night smile

Any possibilities of using the routines the light AA uses to make the lights go after the planes?

A while back I made you a searchlight TMOD.

I can't find it on my HD, hopefully you have it.

Also, if you think about it ALL the AA follow the enemy aircraft. The light and medium AA very accurately but the heavy AA also targets them albeit in more of a shotgun pattern.

Something to think about.

Does an aircraft get illuminated by the beams?

I just did a test where the light AAA 3dz was replaced by a searchlight beam 3dz. As I suspected although the tracer tried to follow the aircraft the beam remained static, so the 3dz itself is not moving frown
Otherwise I would have had a go at applying AAA code to the beam.
