I have a AMD Radeon HD7700 1024mb Graphic Card, AMD FXtm 4350 Quad Core 2.8ghz CPU Running Windows 8.1 64bit
Using the comprehensive installation guide in WOFF FAQ pdf I installed and patched the WOFF UE including the skin pack, great job I thought.Tried to play a quick scenario and went through the setting of airfields, guns and objects but at the point of starting an error message came up and the game closed.
After a lot of digging around and with help from my techmates on the RoF Other Games Forum, it appeared that Avira Premium AV software had quarantined some of the WOFF Toolbox exe files. I restored them and reran the game, the same error message came up BUT at a later point. The WOFF Toolbox files were easy to spot in the AV quarantine, but I think others were quarantined that I hadn't spotted.
Delete and reinstall was suggested...So...
disabled all the av software, dl woff 3 times each time at the unzip stage it displays 2 errors for corrupted files, the first is bypassed with the retry option, 2 nd 'german map_main' or something like that its called wont accept the retry, so have to abort. Last dload was from the original that was successful, but now has corrupted files. After initial dload I made a copy of the unzipped files on USB3.0
I have cleaned the system and run defragmeneter. How are the files corrupted when I am downloading from the initial download which was successful 3 days ago. I have 7 downloads left from my acknowledgement email from OBD/Avangate. What to do next?

Did you do all the steps as I did wrote down, like installing C++ or empty register it is for us usefull you do the steps .

Redownload again and burn it on a disk as read only, so that will be your base for reinstalling.
It seems you are missing something in the download file.

unzip the game using 7zip or Winrar to your HD, virus scan most be disabled, which is no problem on safety while unplugging the internet connection.
Install the game on the main directory and not in program folder.

Run the game without anything installed like the skinpack or music pack.
I would disable the directX9 shaders and lower everthing or adjust to off.
Play the game.

BTW same problem on other CPU intensive games, maybe it has nothing to do with the games but it is something else, like heated hardware.

Hi Dutch,
Well I have had partial success in as much as it is now installed on the hard drive. I Created exceptions in the Avira software, and in Malwarebytes, I re ran DX9Redist as you suggested,.
I tried a quick combat, and it went through all the set up process and came to the loading screen, sounds from the airfield were heard and then the 'CFS3 has stopped working'error message, followed by the shut down message, so I am back where I was when we first started talking.
I have gone round in circles trying to stay logged into this buggy forum to post this btw!!

Povolski has been very very helpful, but I will go back to him, its interesting that CFS3 wont open on my PC even though I have made it compatible with Win 8.1, probably nothing to do with my WOFF probs but I would have liked to try it for old times sake.:)
