Even with just one ship it reduces the number of pages you need to scroll through but it gets even more useful when you edit the waypoints of several ships. You will have to add more waypoint locations if your edit causes the ship to travel through terrain but it will almost always be fewer lines of code in the .mis file than what the game automatically generates.
