Hey folks, just a quick update on Havrincourt Wood. Work continues as I am now building the various seasonal tiles. Here is a screenie showing "Old Mossy Face" in the dead of winter
(right-click on image and open in new window to view it full size)
Putting together all the different landscape tiles for these mods is incredibly tedious and every time I am in the middle of it I marvel, yet again, at how much time and effort the devs put into this amazing mod. I wonder just how many hundreds of thousands of hours they've ticked up over the years - boggles the mind it does.

Three RFC Brass Hats were strolling down a street in London. Two walked into a bar, the third one ducked. _________________________________________________________________________

It does boggle the mind when you think about the amount of time they spent. Thanks for their dedication. We also thank you Lou for your talents and dedication also. Your hard work is the topping on a well baked cake. Have a drink on my tab.
It would be fantastic to see this important landmark completing the somme scenery. I missed bois d'havrinvourt particularly ,but the betaversion is already doing fine .
Looks fantastic ! We are getting some real landmarks on the landscape. Combined with Lou's fabulous maps, navigation is getting easier and easier Cheers, shredward
I like to preserve the surprise so when I load new scenery like this, or like Lou's amazing aerodromes, I try not to visit each one right away. Otherwise it's like shaking your Christmas present a week before the day. But now that my DiD character has moved to Vert Galant, I'm really looking forward to the first offensive patrol on a clear day. Thanks, Lou!

Thanks as always folks for the encouragement and the kudos, much appreciated.
Raine, keep in mind this is still the beta test version of Old Mossy Face. As noted in the first post, it will only show in 1915 and/or 1916 and has no winter textures yet. So, with that said, if you are flying during the spring or summer of the two aforementioned years, you should see this most recognizable landmark in the sim.

Greetings All,
My Havrincourt Wood Mod is at long last done. This one turned into a much bigger project than I imagined going in as I ended up having to create three versions of “Old Mossy Face” to deal with the front lines sweeping across it in 1917. End result involved having to build 240 texture files to deal with all 11 tiles in all seasons and periods of the war. But it’s done! I've just zipped up and sent the completed mod to Sandbagger for hosting on his User Mods Page but for those of you who just can't wait here is a temporary download link:
Please take note that as this mod changes the global layer files in the sim it should not be used at the same time as other mods which do the same thing, such as the aerodrome mods. Hopefully Robert will find the time in the near future to add this to the consolidated mod.
Let me know what you think, and happy flights!
Lou
