Anyone else seen canvas flapping about on a damaged plane? Didn't think it was possible, but here it is:

"Take the cylinder out of my kidneys,
The connecting rod out of my brain, my brain,
From out of my arse take the camshaft,
And assemble the engine again."

Hilarious!

Meanwhile, down on the farm... Danny boy promptly crossed the nose of a Halberstadt D.II, and crashed his shiny new, Baby Blue paint job, along with the plane that it was on. Apparently no one could find anymore of that paint (which he found to be suspicious), so...

Off we go into the wild blue yonder.

WOFF just looks better all the time. The snowy textures along with the new winter trees and the January 1917 gloom are knocking it out of the park for moody atmosphere.

Another one of those oil painting shots that WOFF does so well.

New damage model with the whipping fabric that Fullofit mentioned earlier.

This guy was due some payback.

And another great and sombre WOFF morning.

Thanks Robert. When my Pup was shot through and the wind was whistling through the holes in my cockpit, you could almost feel the cold.

WOFF really captures that atmospheric feeling of being up there alone in harm's way in the clouds.

I'll say. That first shot was well described.

On the other side, dawn patrol. I didn't even intend to take these. I was actually looking back in the first one to see my flight taking off. Graphics are amazing.

But I landed.

Speaking of damage models. The lower wings were from combat, too man Gs etc., but the tail section got me. Not only the crumpled port side elevator, but the control surface basically detached, hanging on only only be the canvas (not to mention the shredded rudder). I spun out as I came to a stop and that is what I saw when I pulled back to look.

I did that coming in. Was fighting a roll and could not maintain sufficient altitude to get over those trees. Went through almost sideways and felt the jolt as my tail hit. The starboard aileron was actually flopping up and down in the breeze as I sat there.

Only thing that would have made it better is if I had done the final layer to texture and age it a bit, but still pretty amazing.

Well, I'm not sure it's quite so pretty as that nice blue Nieuport, but I bagged a couple E.III's on my last patrol, and I took a couple screenshots of one of 'em, since he landed so obligingly in basically one piece.

Just after the other guy landed.

Zoomed in, took this screenshot, then decided to try and land next to him to get a closer one.

As I flew past, I saw that there were a lot of trees and a fence there, so I broke off my approach to land. Still came pretty close, though, so I paused to get a couple more screenshots. Shows more damage on the model than I usually get a chance to see - shooting at Eindeckers, the easiest target seems to be the pilot sticking out the top, so I tend to normally just see craters.

Zoomed in, I saw the pilot slumped over in his cockpit - he must've been good! His engine stopped in the air, so he made a dead-stick landing just before dying.

Or he's cleaning out his pants.

Oddly enough, I think I met his brother shortly after reading this thread.

He almost landed perfectly, so I titled this one, "missed it by THAT much"

Hi Deacon.

I'm looking to copy some of the Screen Shots here, and I'd really like to copy this one. I'm doing this thing where, as we build our new house, and my new office (and man-cave), I'm going to be doing the walls with different themes that I enjoy (collections over the years).

Above my desk some of my old Marine Corps stuff; the TV, some sports and golf memorabilia (Fan of Ben Hogan, have his style, and have some of his memorabilia). Over my little work-out area my collection of Norman Rockwell's. At my gaming rig (on the other corner), I've decided to go with a collection of WWI screen shots of the different planes and scenes.

I'm a fan of illustration, water colors, pen and ink, oils more then photos. This game has risen to that level, and this SS is really Amazing.

From one Marine to another, consider it a gift. salute

Actually as I've often said, all credit for these goes to OBD. I only live in their world. biggrin

Anyone can do anything they like with my SS. But I thank you for asking!

And now for something totally different. (No sun whatsoever, hope the lights are down and you can see the screenshots.

Intruder over the airfield after sundown in the rain. Hair-raising experience.

Returning home. Reading the dials by the moonlight.
