despite the Devs compendious install notes I've never been sure if I have to download and install the DX9 gobblegoo separately as per instructions.....or if they come in the toolbox already and all I need do is run those three thing-a-ma-bobs that come in it, or do both? Or does the installer install them for you from the toolbox? Any perspective from youz guyz would be welcome. Doing a complete reinstall w/ new mobo,card, and cpu.......and want to get it right this time.....maybe even see framerates like the big dogs I hope!!

Just double click the exe file and it should auto install the DX9 files, even if you have later DX installed.

gaw1 you have to read the FAQ carefully, it's actually step by step see the "After Install" section.

You need to run the file in there, it unpacks to a folder you give it. Then you MUST go to that folder and run dxsetup.

It has nothing at allto do with installing from a DVD or digital download, the exact same files are installed from either.

I may be in the " lala land " with gaw1 when I get my disk and the down load info --- that is, some one to hold my hand through all of the process of downloading and installing.

POL, your instructions ( above ) look clear -- but you have know idea how easy it is for an almost 80 year old
"non guru computer dude" to screw it all up in to the realm of massive SNAFU.

So I and others are looking forward to the "After Install" section step by step instructions that are "cristal
clear" and lack any "but first" moments.

If the do -- then my tip will go from $30.01 to $100 !!!
