Hello gents, I have a little question, how is it with claims? Yesterday, I wanted to try it, but the form (on normal mode), needed a witnesses name. I have no idea, who that other guy in the Nieuport was.. I know, there are some labels, but for immersion sake, I don´t want to use them. I noticed, there are some option for easy and easiest claims in the workshop, can somebody please explain whats the difference in those settings?
Thank you very much smile.

For Normal Claims you have to:
1. turn on labels when you make a kill to see who is around you, or
2. memorize the various planes paint schemes before you take off so you know which planes are around you when you make a kill, or
3. make a WAG when filling out the Claims Form after making a kill.

Ok, 1st option sounds the as the only way. Also, what is WAG?

"Wild A$$ Guess."

I confess that I have pretty good success in just noting one of the pilots who was in the flight. After all, if you shoot down two aircraft, the closest guy will likely not be the same guy anyway.

I use the same procedure.

Ok, WAG is my professional speciality, so I guess that will be my way smile. Thanks for confirmation it actually is working.

Forgot to mention, I just use the details screen post flight for my flight members names (although if you have a lot of Historical Aces, you will begin to recognize paint jobs). So you can do that and not use labels or pause if you find it immersion killing.

Personally, I use the middle setting on claims. In reality, any flight member who saw your kill would chime in and you wouldn't need to play "guess the witness". The kill system is a bit of an abstraction (a fairly clever one) to simulate that not all claims were historically granted. Still and all, I am not a believer that harder is always more real.

So, pick what flavor you find most believable and go with it. biggrin

WAG is my way now. I also set it as a challenge at work. Put into some presentation that: "for these numbers the WAG method has been used". I bet nobody will ask what is the WAG method biggrin

The witness box has a drop down menu with names of guys in your squad and as mentioned by others, I just do my best to pick who I thought was within sight distance. Turning on labels is an absolute immersion killer ... NOOOOO! smile
