Hi
I'm getting COD from Steam the next couple of days and was wondering what I need tp patch it to get it up to the current Team Fusion patch level?? when I put in Shogun 2 it connected and patched for like 12 hours,,That's ok once I install it at what level will it end up at ?? Don't have a lot of experience with Steam ,,I had COD when it first came out and it wouldn't fly on my machine but upgraded and ready to go...Thanks for any help here

Steam won't add the TF patches,at least not yet.You have to go grab them from here http://teamfusion.theairtacticalassaultgroup.com

Note what it says about mod 4.0 re anti-virus.

TF recommend that after each patch you install you should run the game and briefly fly a quick mission just to set up the mod folders. I've never had any trouble doing it that way.

Here's a video explaining it. I've never used 7-Zip as they state,I reckon any zip prog will work.I use Winrar myself.

That's where I'm a bit confused..What patches do I need to put in before the TF ones,,Are they integrated into the steam install?? I've got both 7 zip and RAR always use RAR as my default..Got BOB II Wings of Victory tried installing it but was a bit buggered and started checking out COD,,,Right now only BOB flights I'm taking is in EAW..Great old girl there..

Hi Russ,

you don't need any patch before the TF ones. Install CoD and then install TF patches just like in the video (that video is a great guide btw) Hope this help.

Cheers

Once you have downloaded the game from Steam read the following thread:

http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23164

until you see this part:

Click on Library

Find the greyed out "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover"

Right-click on it and choose "Install Game"

Ignore that and everything above it....but read everything below it! smile

Cheers, MP

I'm going to wait until TF get it all up to speed with their newly granted access to the source code. I'm very stoked about this. smile

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

OKK downloading it from Steam now,,Got the TF mods ready to install..Hopefully all goes well..

Got a quick question,,Is there a HUD setting or something to let you know your heading ?? Tried training and the instructor says go to heading of 60 and the turn right but turning right only gets him #%&*$#,,I'm used to EAW with a hud at the bottom,Tried looking in cockpit but couldn't figure it out,,
But otherwise COD looks great and FR of around 50-60,,At least I managed to figure out engine starts thanks to a post here

At this point the training missions are not of much use. Best to just look for one of the training videos for the plane of your choice on youtube, jot down a few notes, and try just taking off and flying around. If you can't find a mission that lets you do this, look for the mission builder videos and make your own.
It's also possible to pick one of the more remote airfields in an online server and pick a plane and just fly it without going into the combat area.

Sounds good Murph kinda what I did to get used to other sims Think it's best to do some free flights and get the feel and to figure out what keys I want mapped..

Look at ATAG "Flight School", is listed the basic commands for each plane - that is not the same for every plane.

http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=128

Since the suggested commands is from "hardcore" multiplayer point of view, add SP things like external view, fly-by, padlock, Wonder Woman, etc. wink
