Well the new season started off very nicely

The whole "in the future women will be the elite warriors" meme in Expanse as well as most recent SciFi is just nauseating. The Mars Marine chick couldn't be seen just beating some human male in an arm wrestling contest, oh no that would be too easy! She has to take on a ROBOT and beat it! The actress playing Draper is tall, but hardly physically imposing.

I think I'm going to give the first book a go.

It is a good story and well told, while it does have a lot in common with the first TV series it is not exactly the same, somethings a revealed early in the TV series compared with the books.

I agree, and you'd think they could have at least shown her straining. I get they were trying to keep it close to the book, in which I think she was described as being of Polynesian/Samoan descent, but surely there's a Polynesian/Samoan female bodybuilder who can act? Still, it's apparently a sign of the times, and I don't think it detracts from the show.

But no way in hell did those no-muscle-tone-having arms beat that robot at arm wrestling.

Yeah,that scene sucked. They needed Gina Carano at the very least.

I'm not impressed with any aspect of that actress so far. I have seen roles like that played better many times in the past. Where is Jenette Goldstein 2.0? She was believable as a Latina ass kicker despite being a Jewish Russian/Moroccan/Brazilian. She both looked the part and could ACT.

There are women out there who look this part. And there are ones that can act. This one they got playing Draper doesn't seem to have either going for her. I would've believed the one they have playing Naomi or the one that played Julie far more.

I'm heartened that this season seems to be better formed than last at least.

Episode 2 was great, I thought the were brilliant in their simplicity & functionality.

Yes, Phil go for the book, Corey is awesome! Swallowed the whole expanse triology in a row myself.

Got all 6 novels on my devices, along with the short stories & novellas. I've told the authors and I've said it before here - this is the best space SF to come along since the Honorverse.

Gotta agree with that, it was your mention of the Honorverse that got me into that

S2E2 was great, E3 is going to be even better.

Just watch E3, its a breather episode but sets up the plot.

Watched the first 3 last night. Killer season! On the Martian soldier lady, I like her, but I agree that she didn't fit the arm wrestling scene. Unless the power in that armor isn't worth much at least. Gina Carano would be good on there, seems that "angry" is all that's required so far.

We are watching The Expanse also here and my wife tells me I could be the twin brother of Miller And he already looked familiar to me before, but after she told me that, I see it also now and we really look alike a lot! And NO, I am NOT gonna post a pic now

I tried to like the show because I'm a sci-fi fan, but I can't get into it. It's the characters. They aren't interesting.
