AirsFuser, I should have mentioned that you will want to deactivate any other mods that are altering the global layers. This would be additional aerodromes such as my Farnborough mod. Thanks for bringing this important point up in the conversation.

Once you are satisfied with it we will need to find a way to compile a global layer that addresses all the mods. This could be an interesting issue.
Maybe a special global laywr mod to address all.

Robert, what I imagine will need to happen is that Havrincourt and other such mods that deal with the Flanders area will have to be grouped into a single mod in order to eliminate the issues of over overwriting altered files that are being loaded by other mods. Shouldn't be that hard to sort out.

. I agree it shouldn't be hard to sort out but I was thinking that global layer could be one stand alone mod which could be easily updated as needed and contain ref for all mods. This approach would eliminate need to group all mods together and you could then only load the mod of your choice. All mods grouped would have larger impact on WOFF. I think this would be possible but require testing. What do you think

I think I don't know what you mean precisely. Are you suggesting a global layer mod that includes all the line entries for all the other mods but nothing else? If so I don't believe that will work because, IIRC, when the global layer files call out for a certain item and that item is not found in the sim files you will get an error message.

Just curious if anyone here has had an opportunity to try out Havrincout Wood and if so how it ran in the sim for them. Any and all feedback will be much appreciated.
Thanks folks.

Thanks Adger, it certainly looks to be displaying properly. Have you tried setting up a massive furball above it to see how it may affect your FPS and overall smoothness?

Many thanks Adger, that is very helpful information. Out of curiosity, what are your system specs.

Lou, tested your mod in an RiR Campaign mission, while loitering over Bertincourt to lure some Eindeckers into combat. The trick did not work, but the old mossy face, Havrincourt Wood looked very good! No fps or other issues whatsoever. Well done, I like such unique landmarks! Keep up the good work, Sir!

. Thanks again Adger. You are running a hotter CPU than mine and larger monitor resolution, but the rest of your system looks relatively close in terms of what it should be capable of. Here are my specs for comparison: CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core, OC'd to 4.2GHz CPU Fan: Arctic Super Cooler Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16gb (4 x 4gb) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth P67 Hard Drives: 2 Western Digital 640 GB Caviar Black SATA Opti Drive: LG 22X DVD+/RW Dual Layer SATA Rewrite Video Card: 2 EVGA GTX 970 SSC 4gb cards in SLI configuration PS: Corsair HX 850 Watt OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit LG 27" flat screen LCD monitor, 1920 x 1080 native resolution Four large case fans, plus the PS, CPU, mobo, and card fans Saitek AV8R joystick Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals Track IR4 camera with latest IR5 software LowDrag, thanks to you as well for taking the time to test out the mod, it is much appreciated. Same question when you have time to answer it: What are your system specs? I have finished up Old Mossy Face for 1917 and you can see how the front has crept onto its eastern edges. Still very recognizable though. (right-click on image and open in new window to view it full size)By 1918 No Man's Land will have spread much farther west and Havrincourt Wood will be nothing but a faint outline in the mud. Ah well, c'est la guerre. .
