Hi all – a question for some of you who are likely in the know with this – the other day in a local hobby shop I stumbled across a large selection of windsock datafile booklets – I had never seen these before but being an avid bookworm and ww1 aviation junkie I was really interested and decided merry Christmas for me and brought them home

I am really enjoying them – but I'm curious –there are about 60 of them and every single one on the inside cover has this ink over stamped identification (will include a photo later tonight) – looks like some type of Celtic symbol or pattern - do any of you have these booklets and have you ever seen that marking in them – not sure if the publisher did it or if they all belong to a gentleman who put that in there for his own ID purposes - just curious

At any rate I am really enjoying them and learning lots more about the different planes of the Great War. – when I go up in my plane in woff - I am all the more immersed smile

Any info or insight much appreciated as usual and happy holidays everyone – see you in the sky's and hopefully not on my six

Regards, Ron

here is an image of the stamp I described

no one have a heart attack lol ... I only paid about $5 per booklet ... they were priced between $24 and $39 but seller did a 'bulk buy' figure ... still ALOT of money x 60!!! but I can't resist old publications I haven't seen before

please don't somebody tell me these are all available free somewhere on the interweb ....! smile

regards, Ron

Hi. I have ten billion Datafiles and none of them has that symbol, so it's not the publisher's. Five bucks each is definitely cheap so great score! cheers

Yeah, that's the bargoon of the year. The published price is generally the minimum that you will pay for them; the out of print ones usually command a very hefty premium on eBay. So well done Ron. We use every source we can find when we build an aircraft for WOFF, but the relevant Windsock is always the first stop, and usually the most inclusive source
Cheers

We will remember them.

Wow! That is a great bargain Ron, you scored big there. As for the stamp, I imagine it was that of the former owner. And it is a Celtic three-sided eternity knot.
