Land of the Morning Calm
All,

As this year has been very good to me and this title has brought me so many hours of gratification, I wanted to offer a holiday gift to a fortunate person, in hopes of providing them the same amount of enjoyment and challenge it has provided me over the few years it's been out.

I have seen so many naysayers regarding the price point, so I would like to hopefully show them that the price point is all relative to the amount of time spent being entertained with this release.

I plan to gift the winner a copy of Command Modern Air Naval Operations WOTY and Northern Inferno, not including the DLC scenarios sold separate of these 2 items. I will decide by 25 DECEMBER 2016, NLT 0700 CST

I just have a few requirements for the recipient, they are:

1. Reply to this thread in 500 words or less as to why you feel you might be a worthy prospect of this gift.

2. Ensure your gaming platform you will use this gift on meets the minimum hardware requirements as the items cannot be returned or refunded if they do not work on your platform.

3. Tell me whether you prefer a Steam key or Matrix key, which also can be converted to a Steam key if you choose to do so later.

4. Optional but highly recommended. Please watch Balloogan's video's regarding this series. They are extremely beneficial to those with little knowledge of modern air and naval tactics, or just need a good brush up on capabilities.

Thank you all for reading. Happy holidays and best of luck to all that enter.

So, are the requirements too much for those that have read and not replied to the thread?

Hello strykerpsg, that is very nice of you and likewise it is very nice to hear somebody express their gratitude for the year gone.

Here are my answers:

1. One reason is that I have had it on my watch list for a long time as a Fleet Command and then Silent Hunter old timer, who wants to get back "in the game" and was just waiting for Steam to discount it more because I am certainly interested but am a little wary it could be a little too steep to play it at first: at least until I buy myself a dedicated gaming rig this coming year and spend more time with PC "gaming" altogether. Another, very good reason is that today is my birthday. smile Last but not least, I appear to be the first prospect to reply. biggrin

2. It does my laptop and even more so will do my brand new gaming PC to be this upcoming spring or summer.

3. Steam is where most of my games and simulations are, so Steam it is if it is possible: if the key needs to be "converted" to Steam, I would take the burden.

4. Noted, and will check nevertheless.

Thanks again for your initiative. Sorry I couldn't see it earlier.

I'm all alone on a deserted island in the middle of Africa. Having this game would help pass the time. I use to play Harpoon on the shop pc in the NIXIE room on another island called USN.

I have an Intel i7 6700k, 16gb ram, 64bit, nvidea 1070. I run it off the solar power I have rigged in the only coconut tree here.

Steam, it uses less electricity.

Congrats to Aeronautico! Thanks for the more sincere reply. As someone who also grew up with the like of Harpoon (before it became tainted) and Silent Hunter series, I think this will be something you greatly enjoy and will find easy to get into. If you could PM me your email address, I will ensure your key is sent soonest.

Thanks and happy holidays to all.

And, it seems a quasi-Grinch has graced us in his attempt to demonstrate his tiny heart syndrome here and on Steam. Too bad it failed, as usual.

This is a most generous offer, and since I would dearly love to play the full Command game, but can't really afford it at the moment (low income country, yay), here goes:

1: I have always been interested in Air/Sea operations, especially from WW1 onwards. I have done a lot of research and gaming in WW1 (check out rule the waves), but not much in the modern era (apart from flight sims). I have the Northern Inferno 'extended demo', and love it - currently stuck on Barents Sea Boomers, and would love to play more - experience everything the full game has to offer. I have a fairly extensive bookshelf on Naval history and technology, so experiencing this would be a bit of a dream come true for me.

2: It plays NI, so yes.

3: Steam, easier for me.

4: Didn't know of them, they might help me get my subs sunk less.

PM sent: as I said there, should the otherwise late reply of FlyingToaster sound more persuasive, I will not object.

Got the keys, just finished downloading and fired it up for a moment: the game is intimidating! And marvelously rewarding I bet, given the sheer detail and realism it transpires. Will make sure to find out soon. yep

Aeronautico,

Don't hesitate to go onto the Matrix Games forum to both read and ask questions. The development team and community members are all very receptive to helping new members grasp and understand some of their questions. I would also highly recommend watching Baloogan's videos as well as reading his wiki site on the various platforms within the game.

Yes thanks, and I have watched a couple of those videos already, conveniently linked to within the program's UI.

Fantastic news! I hope you are able to fully immerse yourself in the details of the database. Also, there is a new scenario pack that was just released a few days ago. They are always a great package to use, just ensure your delete your old scenario folder and save any custom one's you modify or create in a separate folder to avoid overwriting or deleting them in your original file.

Everyone take a break. Stop antagonising each other and respect the original intention of the first post.

No more off topic posts! Dont make me pull out the ban hammer (because you won't like it as the coding for this part of the site only allows for a full site wide ban!).

Ive deleted all of the off topic posts. Please don't allow this to happen again. If you see something you don't like contact a moderator or PM the person directly about their post.

After several days of playing around, watching videos, and reading, I'm having a blast.
Mostly it's my aircraft going blast. SEAD is difficult. Really difficult.
Submarines are also a pain, unless you have really good ASW assets. Unlike the one mission where I finished the objectives, was cruising home with my ships, and one suddenly blew up.
Lessons learned.
ahoy
