It bothers me that they are using the term "reboot". This will NOT be a reboot of the Lynch film from 1984. This will be an entirely different adaptation of the novel.

It would also apply if there had been a franchise before, like Craig's Bond was a reboot of the character.

Since all we had was one film over 30 years ago, and it was an adaptation of the novel and not an original work, reboot does not apply.
