Cannon blisters on Spitfires are a bit of a boob in May 1940, and I can't find any squadron which used LC (except perhaps some Halifaxs involved in the Norway campaign). I appreciate it looks better with real planes flying around than CGI.

But otherwise it looks okay biggrin

That was a yellow-nose Buchon.

I mean, only nerds like us will catch that stuff, but still....

Bloody 'ell that looks smashing! And real airplanes instead of CGI! Kudos to the director for bucking that annoying trend. Yeah, I'm seein' it.

There are very few actual E models left flying, I can only think of the one flying heritage has out in Washington State, it would've been a AMAZING if they could've actually gotten it for this film but Buchon stand-in's will do, the general movie going audience won't know the difference. So glad they went with real aircraft instead of CGI, here's hoping "The Mighty Eighth" follows suit whenever that is finally released...

Yup. 95% of the movie audience won't even notice it.

Yeah the trailer looks fantastic and I've yet to be disappointed by Nolan.

I'm sure building replica BF-109 E's would have been much more expensive.

Planes of Fame's Buchon was supposed to be in the film but they couldn't get if flying before the deadline. It is still painted in the German markings they were going to use for the film.

My wifes Grandfather (who is sadly no longer with us) spent 3 days on the beach at Dunkirk before he was evacuated. Said they were 3 of the scariest days of his life.
from there He was posted to North Africa where he was captured by the Italians (He subsiquently escaped. But thats another story)
He was a "D-Day dodger" (as he called it) as he was in the soft underbely of Europe fighting his way through Italy (although it was anything but soft)at the time of the Invasion.

A lovely man who lived a full and active life. sadly missed

I will be watching this and thinking of Danny.

My uncle George was on the Italian campaign, he got bayonetted and captured by the Germans and sent to a POW camp. He still had a metal plate in his arm from the operation he had during the war after he was captured, you could feel it under the skin.

This is him in the camp, he is the one with the X above, I have been told that this was taken at the POW camp, sadly he is not here any longer to ask.

The Americans do come in at the end of the movie to rescue the British and kill all those nasty Germans don't they?

Only if the movie runs long enough.
