I have many fond memories of a series of games developed by Atomic Games called V for Victory and was released in the early 90's. It was an operational WW 2 type game and was wondering if anyone can recommend a more updated game that resembles V for Victory, both in operational scope (division level) and theater (ETO). I appreciate any feedback!

I had it and played it a lot. It was one of the best wargames of this time. But I prefered "Fire Brigade" from Panther Games.

The John Tiller list of WWII games probably comes closest.

Wargame Design Studios are using the Tiller program to release smaller unit versions.

Here is a review I did of 'Panzer Battles Normandy'

Right now I have installed V4V Market Garden and Utah Beach, and W@W Stalingrad and America Invades. Stalingrad is my favourite of the lot and is one of the earliest wargames I ever bought for PC. I don't know any current wargames that are quite the same.

Like was said though the Tiller games might be to your liking. Try this series.

It has 2D and 3D unit modes.

Another one is the Squad Battles series by Tiller.

On Matrixgames you can also buy his Napoleon and Civil war bundles.

Yeah, I was a huge V for Victory/World at War fan back in the day. I easily spent several hundred hours among all of the titles. Ah to relive my college days!

This thread made me go buy the newer Tiller game Battle For Normandy. It's good and is like all his other games pretty much, same GUI, etc. Me and his games go back to the Talonsoft Battleground series, which you can also get at Matrixgames. I have both the Napoleonic and Civil War series.

Then there is HPS that also sell these types of games.
