Great reports Gents! Love the historical after action forms. Rudolf Becker Jasta 1 800 hours Patrol behind friendly lines from Monchy to our field at Pronville. Everything went well. No contact with the enemy as me and my wingman Gussendorf enjoyed the flight. 2 machines made it to designated patrol area. 2 machines made it back safe. 2 machines landed safe. no enemy machines shot down.
Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from either end. BOC Member since....I can't remember!

Nice to see you back in RiR action MFair! Capt. Nelson just got back from his 2nd sortie. I'm off to a real airport now, to fly back to the UK for a quick pre-holidays visit to my parents. I have some video of my second Eindecker battle within the first two missions (!) but I don't have time to get it posted. More action in these first two missions than the whole of the last challenge for me Flying with just mixture to control speed is risky stuff, especially when in combat! Will try to upload them next week when I'm back. Good luck with the rest of week 1 all! I will be updating the scoring chart this Friday. Cheers H

He may well of been part of a formation, as I have seen formations crash into each other. I couldn't tell what type as he was toooo far away. It was very cloudy so his mates may of not seen us either. n.b. my portside wingy (Cpt Burns) was also having problems keeping his formation and even landing badly. He missed me just during two turns.

Perhaps the vast majority could have been easily explained or categorized under a small set of variables/rules. However most if not each of them has always struck me sharply and created a sensation of wonder and bewilder; I can recount losing myself in the game for a few moments. Terrific stuff. Even still I've not come across a random enemy machine suffering engine fire and going down that was all alone(or perhaps out of sight). Thanks for the share, and good find!

Great reports everyone, quite busy campaign so for for the most of us... Captain Paul McCudden had his first mission today. Artyspotting, frontline SW of Bapaume, 2 BE2 of A Flight were doing the spotting, Stewart/Knight and Ada/Garfi, my wingman Will Barker and me were scheduled to escort them. Was firing off my engine and started the takeoff run, she lifts off nicely, love this bird, looked over my right shoulder for my comrades, they haven´t started their run yet, looked to the left- two Eindeckers going straight at me from my 9 o´clock!! Breaked left into their attack (wasn´t there some engine sounds audible, before anybody of my flight called "contact-clear", yes it was!!), and did some turnfighting with the two. My flight has taken off meanwhile, Barker was around soon, switching targets as I did... Found myself alone overhead Baizieux aerodrome, only one Eindecker in sight, egressing to the NE. Followed that guy, was able to close to firing range. Took the shot, but my poor aiming did not harm him in the first pass. He did a sharp break to the right and swung down to the ground. Followed him, got on his 5 again, aimed well, hit engine and structure. He went down, started to spin and crashed. Looked for my flight, no joy. Went to our assigned target area, patroled there for 15 minutes. Nobody. Then I spotted two dots-enemy? No, they were BE2´s, A-flight! Stayed with them until they finished their mission and escorted them to Baizieux... Barker was there already. Everybody was fine, no losses today, and one claim filed. Good start! Let´s see, what the next mission brings...

Wow LowDrag! Can only imagine that surprise! I can't recall this happening since I started playing WOFF3. Really something! Glad it ended well for you! Congrats on the victory. Hopefully it'll be confirmed! Cheers

2nd Sortie: Late Dawn patrol; the C.O. Sent myself and William Barker, who'm we'll refer to as "Wilbar" from here-on, to clear the skies of enemy machines who'd been attacking B.E.2c's operating in the area. The C.O. explained we learned this by filed flight reports that were intercepted on something called..."the interweb" (LOOKING AT YOU JASTA 1 Kek Bertincourt Pilots )Apparently the Jasta pilots are very spiffy. C.O. Wants them run off. So up we go, Wilbar and I, to complete our task. As the Major expected, a group of Fokker machines come sneaking in low across the lines to interfere with our reconnaisance flights. However Archie gives their position away and helps Wilbar and I spot them. Beautiful takeoff and gorgeous Depth of Field.Germans Sneaking in low over Fricourt. Archie gives away their presence!Smoke rising from the German machine I downed. Credit not given. I missed seeing the crash and only reported him OOC.Wilbar & German Airman's wrecks are just yards from where the other fokker went downUp close at the Fokker wreckage....not much left.Flying Home over ALBERTCircled a Friendly balloon NW in ALBERT. Might have given them a jump at first, flying around them. Gave a jaunty wave on my departure.Combats in the Air Report Despite overwhelming evidence from my report, Wilbar's testimony and the reports of ground observers, the results of my next victory are inconclusive, and not acceptable enough to warrant the credit of an aerial victory, and instead credit goes to the Anti Air units of XV corps stationed at Fricourt. Regardless, we completed our task to run off the German scouts from our reconnoitering area, with the loss of one Bristol. Cheers!

Just completed my 2nd mission, HarryH, through with this week.
Cpt. Paul McCudden:
"Recon at the frontlines, single BE2, escorted by B flight of two. Made it to the target area without incident. Spotted 2 eny twoseaters far above us, no threat for us, but my wingman Will Barker elected to engage... Tried to follow and have a watchout for my BE2 at the same time... Difficult. Appearently Will was able to down one of those twoseaters, his plane was damaged, and he had to land, he managed to do this safely.
Continued to cover our BE2, which completed its mission. Lost contact with them several times, allways able to reestablished cover afterwards.
Returned to Baizieux. Will Barker aswell, later during the day, by car. No losses."
