so... like.... I literally fell asleep with last weeks episode... what a disaster of writing.... I have seen better low budget small films on Youtube...

now, this weeks episode... so, now , carl cant hit negan 10 meters away and gets tackled by a guy ... then everybody is walking around with negans bat INCLUDING CARL and does nothing....

then negan just walks around alone or with just 1 or 2 guys and NOBODY seems to be able to plan his assassination.. including the group of navy seals (rick, darrel, michone ect)

so,,, I know what they are doing.. they are drawing out negan to give us a feel-good-happy-ending to his death but the way they are doing it, makes it look so cliche and so obvious that any death short of pushing out of a plane at 50k feet seem minor and basic... its

its funny, I know what they are doing.. they are trying to keep production cost down and playing on straight emotion..

the fast dynamic survival feel is gone from the series and pretty much the only reason I was watching it was for ricks leadership skills and how the group dealt with the 'road'

oh well.

Yeah, Negan is pretty much a joke. To retain power he would at least have to have a loyal inner circle that he didn't take every opportunity to piss off, like he does Dwight.

Agreed. If this show doesn't get back to the survival theme then I don't know how long I'll be watching this instead of Sunday Night Football. In America.

I was a huge fan right from the off. But my interest has slowly evaporated. I don't care for the direction, both literal and figurative. They need new creative folks, or bring back the ones that penned the early scripts. I want the show to recapture the feel it had before the governor. It's been all downhill since Alexandria for me.

Scott M Gimple needs to go as far as I am concerned.

And I don't think I can take another scene where Rick goes in to that mode where he is all sweat and spit and dropped jaw like in last season's finale. I mean what the hell is that anyway? Get it together man!

These people need to get back in to the woods with weapons and haversacks.

They think we are stupid.. all they did with negan and his group/town was take High Plains Drifter and reverse a goodie with a baddie.

Sounds like this is a soap opera with the occasional zombie thrown in. smile

Changed the channel after he forced Carl to remove his eye patch and then make him sing.
Guess I did not miss much after.

You think you can just waaaaalk in here
IN
MY
HOUSE
and put down the show?
Point out glaring issues and then say you're going to
CHANGE
THE
CHANNEL?
Say I've got no friends
GOT
NO
FRIENDS?

ARGH! It is so tiresome listening to Neegan dialogue. The show is so damn slow. Can we get to the tragedy that makes Rick go all "no more" and move on?
Go ahead, have the group have to decide if they're going to raid Carol's new friends, the island of lost women or whatever...have them all join up to kill the Saviors and
MOVE ON ALREADY! We already know someone else has to die to do this, just get on with it.
I've said the length of the show I'd be on the coast or an island. At least we finally found a group smart enough to do that and have a constant source of real food instead of 2 year old cans of beans.

I'm invested enough that I'll see where it goes, but yes, the survival theme needs to come back soon.

Hopefully they do not drag out Negan for more than a season. There's clearly going to be a shift after the mid-season break. Not that they necessarily have to kill him this season, but at least have Rick's group escape somewhere else, discover new places, start an alliance to rebel against the Saviors, etc.

The series is stuck in limbo right now. It was interesting when they were constantly moving, finding new things, always having hope of something better. But they've been in Alexandria for how long now? 3 years?

When they were first heading toward DC, I thought we would get to see some really interesting stuff with the city, maybe some government interactions or something. But they just stopped at some walled houses across the river and we've never went any further. It's getting old.

In the past two seasons there has been very little in the show to grip me. I think back to earlier episodes. Remember when Lizzie killed Mika? Or when they left Darryl's brother cuffed to that pipe? Or when Sofia came out of the barn? When Rick, Glenn and Herschel were out scavenging and came across a couple of guys in a bar and they have a drink. Then Tony and Dave start asking questions... Moments like this carry weight, you can't help but be caught up in it.

Aside from that episode where Morgan and the pacifist guy spent the entire episode in the guys cabin, there has been very little to hold my attention in the past couple of seasons. Following a show like this requires a great deal of suspending disbelief, but it's still going too far.

A guy like Negan wouldn't last two weeks in that world. A bat? Come on, someone would have perforated him with 5.56 a long time ago. I realize they have the comic to live up to, or follow canon in some ways I suppose. But it's still hard to buy in to.

I hope that it picks up, but I don't think it will as long as Gimple is in charge of the creative direction.

They totally dropped the CDC storyline from season 1. The guy gave them all of his research, I thought they would look for another CDC compound or somewhere else actually working on a cure. I guess by now everyone's figured out that they all have the virus, since rarely does anyone ever come back. The old dead do continue to get gooier, at some point they shouldn't even be mobile. There should be a turning point. Not enough time has passed yet though I guess.
Maybe Rick will get the choice of which kid to die and that will send him over the edge.

The first season 7 episode that introduced Negan was a reasonably good beginning, although even then, Negan blabbed way too much. I'm hoping they do more episodes with the fat chick (shouldn't she be skinny by now?) that shot a bird to the little girl at the all woman camp. Now that was some riveting TV viewing!
