I'm loving the Oculus Rift but I found that I couldn't wear it for very long because my glasses would dig into my nose.

While goggling to find a possible solution I found this site http://vr-lens-lab.com/
I ordered a set of standard prescription lenses (they have other options) and there great, no more nose ache.
They do them for the Rift and the Vive and I definitely recommend them if you wear glasses.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. I don't have VR but if I do that will definitely be something that I would need. How does it work? Get extra prescription lenses only and snap this gadget around them and then they go inside the VR set?

You give them your prescription details and they supply the lenses and mountings complete, just clip them into the headset and your good to go.

I find the Vive ok with glasses (it's definitely supposed to be better than the Rift in that regard) but do tend to wear contacts if I'm gonna be using it for any length of time.

With the VR lenses I can imagine having to put my glasses back on whenever I needed to remove the headset and see anything in the real world would get annoying very quickly. I guess whether that's an issue depends on how short-sighted you are. Very, in my case

That's true Brun but luckily for me I'm not totally blind without my bins so I only need them if I need to read any text on the screen otherwise I can do without if I have to.
I apparently cant wear contacts due to my astigmatism so that's not an option.
