My Dad has been messing around with this thing for over 40 years. Finally crashed it beyond repair. I don't know who he was ever able to keep airborne at all

40 years, wow. Was it a kit build?

I think a friend of his started the kit build, and just gave up on it. I think it was a trade kind of thing. My Dad has a few old ones in his basement. He had crashed it several times before, but always brought it back to life. The last crash put it back "to kit form". LOL

Here's is another old one of his. His choice of covering colors has got a little strange lately. Seeing that he is 88, I don't question.

Ooh, a pontoon plane! Those colors are probably easy to see up in the air.

And against sun on the water.

Seeing that engine reminds me of the debates on whether or not one should use a "chicken stick."

I remember chicken sticks. Before everyone got electric starters, I used to see guys get bit all the time. I still hate taking off the glow plug or adjusting the throttle while the buzz saw is running.

I think my early experience with Cox and Testors .049 engines is why I refuse to hand prop real airplanes.
