I have Roberts fm mod, I was using it for WoFF v 2.11, but just wondering if anyone else is using it without any adverse effects now that we are on UE.

I asked Robert about his FM mod's UE compatibility and he said it's okay to use with UE.

I think a Merlin II would go very nicely in my Bristol Fighter,

For now I know of just the Eindecker family.When you give full rudder it yaws the plane but then tracks straight with no roll.

Duke,

Here is a link to my Pfalz FM Mod. Just install the normal way via JSGME. This mod should correct for some of the flipping and flopping in a turn you get with the stock FM.

Wolfstriked,

I lowered the roll damping a bit on the Fokker EIII to help it maintain roll a little longer after rudder input. Is this what you were referring to? Try it out and let me know whenever you have a chance. If you like it, I can make a similar change to other aircraft.

Mod can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mzmr61tdca5lc5t/EIII%20Test%20FM%201.0.zip?dl=0

Its different though I don't know if its better as I crashed 3 flights in a row. I think I have just adapted too well to the stock FM oddities.When I went back to stock it actually feels nice to me. screwy

Ooops, sorry Wolfstriked. I think I may have given you a link to a wrong version of the mod. If you don't mind, try the following file. The roll behavior is less extreme and there should be substantially less "crabbing" to the side in the turn. I also toned down the stall roll off a bit to reduce the sharp roll and turn to the right when near stall speed (which is pretty much all the time with the EIII). biggrin

Anyone else that wishes to try the mod can also find it at the following link. Please let me know whether you like it or not and any suggestions for further improvement.

Hey BuckeyeBob, your mod is almost exactly the same as I tested to create a natural roll behaviour (wing wobbling) - see this thread: Roll damping mod . The main point was to decrease roll_damping_frac to create some artificial roll instability. I have modded several planes already. If you are interested, I can send you download link to patcher for testing purposes. However, I was not satisfied with decreased effectivity of ailerons at slow speeds and/or great roll angles. Maybe we can join our effort and create working solution?

JJJ65 / BuckeyeBob;

Just want to say I did a lot of modding to the FM's back in the WOFF3 release and I still use these mods within WOFF UE for specific aircraft. I would say that back in the WOFF3 early days these FM's were in my opinion far more useful and needed than they are now. OBD has made significant improvements in the WOFF UE FM's that there is very little difference between theirs and mine. That said, I will provide a link here to my dropbox if you would like to try them or view the files. It is a self extracting exe JSGME mod once you unzip it.
