Oh my, that was out of the blue!
Guess I need to force myself into the F/A-18C routines now biggrin
(so far I've smacked into water after takeoff and land right in the stern of the carrier - not healthy for an average Hornet)

Awesome! Additional theaters for BMS are never too much!

Did anyone tested it? Any feedback?

Yes, tried first BAI/BARCAP's in campaign #1 (3 restarts due to.. me).

I'm not a good Hornet driver, what more to say haha.

Somewhat repetitive terrain but not so much it hurts, he said he will continue working on this and aim for Balkan quiality.

From those 3 attempts I've done (failed getting TGP working in the -18A so no success over target area etc.) it looks quite good.

Campaign goal is to clear enemy units from northern tip of island, well contained and easy to track (relatively) and I will most definitively continue flying this for a while.

Hopefully I can drag my BMS lads into this too as I think coop campaign from carrier must be helluva fun (unless you ditch into the sea on takeoff - remember the flaps folks, unlike me).

Thanks for the reply theOden.

I have a few additional questions:
- Can we fly with F-16s and/or from land bases at well? Honestly I only like to fly with F-16s in BMS (since other aircraft don't have their own avionics) with perhaps the exception on the AV-8B+ speaking of which, is there any AV-8B+ squadron available in this theater?
- How big is the map?

Map is same size as Korea

Yes you can fly F-16's. The vintage of aircraft available, depends on which one of the three WORKING campaigns you choose to fly in.

Don't forget to check the Manual included in the download. (X/Falcon BMS 4.33 Ux/Data/Add-On Kurile/Docs) Everything you need to know about the theater is here.

Any Cold War scenarios like F3 Fighting Tiger, where you would lock a guy in STT to get him to turn away instead of a shooting war at the beginning?

AFAIK Some USN aircraft overflw the Kuriles during Able Archer 1983, but cannot find more info about plane types or base, etc...

Sorry Stratos. I was referring to the Falcon 3.0 campaign Operation: Fighting Tiger in which the scenarios started as non-shooting cold wars and escalated from there. It was great because you never knew if "this would be the flight" which added tension to the scenario.

I realize that many people here may not be familiar with Falcon 3 being that it is almost 25 years old, but that was what I consider to be the first hardcore sim.

Negative on your question, HomeFries.

Campaigns start at zero hour of WAR.

Interesting scenario that you bring up. What you describe does in fact sound kinda cool, but I bet some would disagree
and want to jump in the hotbed ASAP.

I'm sure all it would take, is to sett all sides to neutral until a certain event triggers the war. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do such a thing. I'm just happy if I can add a skin or sound mod! hahaha

Thanks, schnidrman.

It was worth asking. The OFT Kurile campaigns in Falcon 3 were the only ones that had a cold war go hot. It was a lot of fun, but I would imagine it requires some serious tweaking of the campaign engine, or at least the alignment logic. Too bad: I made a campaign like that in TAW where "neutrals" would lock you up and escort you through their airspace.

Wow.. just another example of how advanced the old sims were in really simulating military conflicts. God I sure miss them. Everything seems to be mostly about how pretty things look these days... frown
