I have installed the UE over my existing WoFF 3 installation, but I intend to reinstall just using the UE...
Can some kind individual inform me where the relevant files are located to save my pilots careers, plus my joystick control files biggrin

Many thanks!

I can (if I was on my WOFF machine) but if you use Robert_Wiggins back-up WOFF back-up utility it all becomes a one-click affair.

Out of curiosity how come a "virgin" UE install? Not to say that I haven't kicked it around but things seem fine at the moment.

Robert_Wiggins backup utility should do it all for you. Including most settings.

Trooper,

Just a guess, but since Robert's utility asks you only for which drive the WOFF is installed to, it likely searches for the path to WOFF and remembers that source location for the files, which of course will be the path to your original install. And I'm guessing again that when you do a restore, it puts the files back where it found them -- in your original install. If you want to copy from one location to another it might not be the answer.

There must be a way to get around this, but I'd recommend sending Robert a PM to discuss it.

Raine;

What ever drive he specifies that WOFF is on when he runs the backup, it will capture all the essential WOFF files and back them up.
Next time he runs the program he can specify the new WOFF drive and the restore will go there.

Should be a piece of cake but if you have problems just PM me.

I am always impressed by the "functional elegance" of your program Robert.
Nice piece of work.

EDIT: Stupid phone auto-correct...stop helping!

Thanks for your answers all... as to a virgin install, well, I just have it in my head that it would probably slim down the size of all the files somewhat and would make for better, smoother, faster gaming.
Whether that is true or not I'm not sure, but I have started to get clipping and micro stutters, so perhaps a fresh install may improve things...

Sorry Robert. My smart phone is not always that smart! It's keeps trying to be helpful with the auto-correct.
In any case your program is super. And I fixed above.

And yes Trooper I have thought about it also more for OCD reasons then anything not working so far.
Let me know how it goes.

Robert didn't mention it, but the pilot files are always kept on the C drive. So you can backup from WOFF on C and restore to WOFF on D or wherever including the opposite if you wish. Be careful if you have WOFF running on (say) your D drive and then format your C drive for a new Windows install. After getting your C drive to work, put the backup files program there again and then do another backup from D. This will refresh your backup files on the C drive. I have done all sorts of things and have never lost a pilot, though I did go back a few hours once before I really twigged what was going on.

Did a complete new install, backed up the old game files with Roberts back up utility (many thanks)...

All seems good, re-installed Dx9, added the skin pack and the extra music download... Happy days!

Good point Jim! Thanks for mentioning it. It is always a good idea to copy or backup the pilot backup directory (MyWOFFSetupFiles) which resides on the "C" drive before you re-install an OS, just in case you have something unexpected happen to both your "C" drive and your WOFF install, which would happen if your WOFF install was also on the "C" drive.
