Friends: I just need to write this down for my own sanity. Some of you may remember that my son Philip has lead a hard life. He has been cursed with addictions and mental problems. Today we found him dead in his apartment. He was 29. We did the best we could and loved him with all our hearts. He had been clean for over a year and had started attending church and playing the drums in our worship band. He loved his little two year old nephew ( may grandson ) dearly. The little guy called him "unc" because he could not pronounce his name.

Last week a couple of shady characters , from his past, came to town and he fell in with them. He seems to have relapsed into drugs and overdosed.

He is with the Lord now and does not have to wrestle those demons any more. Pray for him and for his mom, sister and me.

Oh Lord, So sad to hear your news, I am often thinking the same way,but not so much addiction
being the cause. Pure stupidity will get him the same way.

So sorry for your loss. RIP.

Words are insufficient at a time like this. I can't express my condolences enough.

You have my prayers Archie.

I'm so sorry for you and your family. He is no longer suffering and in another place waiting to see you all again.

Once the shock has passed I hope you all manage to get the relevant grief counselling.

Archie, as OG said, no words I can type are sufficient, but you have my deepest sympathies and condolences.

Archie, that news makes me hurt, both for you and your family, but because of my son's alcohol addiction. He is doing well now, but that can change overnight. I don't mean to derail your thread, only want to let you know I understand.

I'm so sorry to hear this...you have my deepest condolences.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

Archie, I will add your family and your son to my prayers tonight.

Psalm 34:18 may help. Also 1 Peter 5:7

"For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Matthew 5:11

Indeed we call blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, because “the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

You and your family are in my thoughts Archie, stay strong.

That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead?
Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.
Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake.
No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.

My deepest condolences.
You and your family are in our thoughts.

My brother in law has just had to go through this about a month ago, his son was also 29, the lad was my wife's godson and it has hit her really hard.

Very sad news indeed. You and you family have my deepest sympathies.
Words are meaningless at a time like this, similar will just say god speed to your son Philip.
